The only thing that i would worry about with Rob Ryan would be that he would be 1 year guy at defensive coordinator before he becomes the head coach somewhere else.

Shefter could be speculating here. I can't point out specifics or produce quotes, but I have noticed he prematurely connects his own dots in an attempt to stay ahead of Jay Glazer - who continually whips him at story breaking unless it has to do with Shanahan.

This actually surprises me somewhat.

Word is that Ryan has a reputation of being a bit of a loose cannon kind of guy and I would expect Red would not care for that type of personality.

I do like some of things he brings to a defense, just not sure if he and Red would be a compatible situation.

I hope it is more a leave no stone unturned situation and we still manage to get Nolan or Capers...that's right, I am like Jim Carey in dumb dumber with his famous...so you're telling me there is a chance line.
