I like the hire of new O-Line coach. I not much on college football. Does this guy run a power running scheme..
I'm not sure about the power run game ,

but at all the hires on the offensive side have the schemes that were more run heavy run centric, not just power.. they literally would run something similar to the way the 49ers run, they just will have a lot more eye candy ,some formations that may not look like run formations, and do we have to run or pass out of them without tipping their hand,

but yes they would be at least from what it looks like in their past stops, they're all more concentrated on a strong run game, with play action passes behind it, with a lot more motion and again it keeps you from tipping your hand to the defense on what you're about to do, but no not just a downhill prostyle power game, but just a philosophy to have the pass come off the run fits...

When I clicked on the thread I thought the big OL coaching hire would be Bill Callahan

Kelvin Banks Jr and Will Campbell are probably top targets now.

Love the hire. To me the Cowboys have their o-linemen out of position and maybe Riley can fix it.

Move Beebe to RG. Flip Guyton to RT and get rid of Steele and his contract. Hoffman can be the center. Then either find a new left tackle, or kick Tyler Smith out there and use T.J. Bass at LG.

really good hire.

Beebe ranked 15th best OC last year by PFF as a rookie playing the position for the first time. I am not moving him.
I have other RG options.
Brock Hoffman was rated the 26th best OG last year.
Tyler Smith and Brock Hoffman are a dandy duo.

this stupid team is trying to suck me back in with these moves.

Campbell would be my choice between the two - Banks might be a G in the NFL - With Beebe, Hoffman and Smith - we have the middle covered

I'm curious about what Rico will get paid. I agree on him being more of a No. 2 than No. 1, but after rushing for more than 1,000 yards and 4.6 YPC, I think it is likely that he'll be looking for starting money. If he gets it, then I'm concerned that the Joneses will not do much else as at RB, possibly just a late-round pick. I want a back within the first three rounds (first two depending on how the draft falls).

Now, maybe Dowdle can repeat last year's success, but I'm not convinced that he can stay healthy and I'd prefer we try to find a stud, someone other teams gameplan on how to stop, which pulls up a safety and helps the passing game.
Rico gets 4.5 to 6 million a season.

Seems like Schotty wants to build this like the 49ers in years past, given his comments about Shanahan scheme during the PC. Efficient passing game but devastating run game.

First step to do that is have great OL. I could see Jeanty round 1 if he’s there and Savion Williams round 2 to be our Deebo
I am all in on your comments here regarding a 49ers type run scheme.
Whatever it takes to accomplish that type of run game I'm good with.

Hopefully Schottenheimer, a confessed lack of Xs and Os guy, will be enabled in his playcalling by OL/RB talent and oline coaching.

Because it would suck to have drafted a good RB, have outstanding oline talent and oline coaching and the playcaller not know what he's doing.

That's my fear.

Hold until Free agency

Or grab his teammate Jack Bech in the third.
Jack Bech is going to be an interesting NFL WR, dude just gets open all the time...Savion is probably the much better "NFL" WR but Jack was always open...Now the Frogs had a very sneaky TOP WR room so it was hard to mark everyone.

I agree and more importantly it's not where he ranks against other centers which that's ambiguous I think he's higher than that I think he's top ten he was solid but he was ranked number two of all the lineman taken as rookies last year in the draft number two overall rated that's what's important we know we our pick was very good and he has nowhere to go but up I'm not moving that middle at all that's why I wrote that earlier I think you're messing with the wrong side we need to fix the tackles..

Those guys produced very well at the end of the year better than at the beginning they got their chances and imagine what the new offensive staff that's going to hopefully scheme these guys into better positions as far as play calls taking advantage of the type of players they are...

But they definitely have their work cut out trying to figure out who the tackles are going to be...but have options of moving on from steel sliding over Guyton and trying to give Richardson a chance at LT or get Vet for a LT and add Nate Thomas as a viable option as well.

I believe we definitely have the bodies, we just have to have the right coaches get this thing moving forward, get this run game going and then we can have those play action passes back and a lot of the predicted or at least talked about... we don't know if they're going to make it true, motion, a lot of the formations all look the same both pass and run, hopefully they're going to be under center more with Prescott, and that way you the defense doesn't have a better idea before the snap what's about to come ,and then you could just be a bit less predictable...
