Don't know what went down for sure, but based upon 30 years of past data, I have no faith that Jerry got the best deal that he could. Micah's agent obviously knew he could get Micah more than Jerry was willing to pay. This deal happened very fast, so fast that I would look into tampering between the agent and the Packers. This is HUGE money, even for a star player. Watt is making $6M per year less with his recently signed contract. GB DT is old and will probably be out of the league in 2 years. He was a throw-in. 2 first round picks will likely be 25th or lower (meaning worse), which is closer to 2nd round than 1st round.

This couldn't have tasted good to Jerry. One of his draft picks leaving the team in the prime of his career. Goes against everything he believes (because he loves to show he's a football guy). If it did feel like a good deal, he's completely lost the gambler mentality he once (thought) he had.

Cowboys are significantly worse team this year than they were before the trade. Maybe we can leverage the Number 8 pick and the 28th pick next year to trade up for an overrated RB. I wish I was joking.

The Cowboys won 7 games last year.
Micah doesn't move a needle enough for this team to pay him the highest ever non-QB contract.

They saved about 40M PER year in the Clark/Parsons swap and got two R1 picks.
And yes, we can forecast those will be picks in the mid to late 20s until we see GB suffer injuries or some nonsense and you end up picking higher than you ever expected.

No doubt Micah is a stud pass rusher, but you have been adding top 60 draftee pash rushers every season for 3 years now.
Williams, Osa, Clark, Fowler is a lot better than most teams on 3rd down.

Who’s Jerry getting with that additional money. They don’t use free agency. They build thru the draft. What happens when you hit on a draft pick with that philosophy? Eventually you gotta pay the guy.

Jerry could have avoided all that. Micah was open to a deal last year. Jerry realistically could have gotten Parsons, Dak, and Lamb all done last year. Instead, he played the usual games he plays, and he got burned this time.

He wanted a bag. We can't do that and pay guys coming up for new deals. I'm sorry but this was the right thing to do. We are rebuilding.

Just gotta move on and hope the defense can step it up this season. I think the defense will actually be better without him. He's got potential but he's too emotional. Can't have that in clutch games.

Yep. I was a little unsure myself so I googled it and A.I. said that the fact that it was a trade and not a loss in free agency doesn't effect comp picks. In fact, (and this surprised me) they used the Micah trade today as an example. Good trade piece if the Boys choose to move up.

I’m not even upset about the trade, but man. 2 firsts? With these clowns drafting? People are acting like they hit the lottery. Tweedle Dee and tweedle dumb are still drafting with said picks. And they won’t draft a QB with Dak on the roster so what did they accomplish?

When they can’t get to the passer and EZ doesn’t acclimate and become parsons a lot of people will change their tune. Or double down. It’s par for the course here.

If you’re going to trade a Micah Parsons. You don’t do it for 2 late round firsts and a 30 year old DT on the downside of his career.

That’s all I’m trying to say.

Only Jerry Jones and AL Davis would make this type of trade.....

Well, this better get us a great future. And to be fair, we were probably going to suck this year anyway. Maybe if we can position this to build a great team, that would be good. I just hope the Packers don't tie us at 5 Lombardis first.

Hopefully with these picks we can get someone like Packers star Micah Parsons.

That would be sweet.

The Packers recent 1st round picks = WR Matthew Golden at 23 in 2025, T Jordan Morgan at 25 in 2024 (backup lineman), DT Devonte Wyatt at 28 in 2022 (mediocre starter), LB Quay Walker at 22 in 2022 (mediocre starter), CB Eric Stokes at 29 in 2021 (chose not to re-sign, got a minimal deal in Las Vegas), QB Jordan Love at 26 in 2020, S Darnell Savage at 21 (traded up) in 2022 (allowed to walk now plays in Jax).

Other than Love, there is not a single name on that list that would make Packer fans think twice about sending 2 late 1st rounders to Dallas for Parsons -- though Golden and Morgan remain unknowns.

May say more about GB's drafting prowess than the talent available, but you can see why this was a no-brainer trade for GB.

*** Especially since most everyone was aware that Kenny Clark was not going to return in 2026 given his bloated contract and declining play.

Yup, I'm just wondering if I'm ever going to see success with the team at this point. I never have. I so badly want to see us finally win something since becoming a fan.

We all want to win, but being a true fan isn't about winning....that's the icing on the cake
