It’s typical for everyone to be disappointed and frustrated . But we should be used to it by now . Ive certainly become as numb as I think I can be.

It takes a different mindset that Cowboy fans had during our glory eras where we always believed we had a shot to win a championship. It’s time for fans to come to terms with what this franchise has become this era .

We aren’t that championship caliber franchise most of the last two generations grew up with, only in name. And I think is part of the problem or at least the foundation into our anger this era. We keep expecting to become that franchise again.

We are almost 3 decades removed from that once proud championship ways . And with an ownership which at least for most of this era hasn’t set their selfish ambitions aside allowing an opportunity for more success.

Cowboy fans must take all of this into consideration and adjust their emotions and attachments accordingly as we have become more similar to many other struggling franchises this era instead of the more elite franchises .

Lions are a great example. Just won their 1st division in 3 decades. It was called the Central Division last time they won in 1993.

Miami hasn’t won a playoff game since Marino era.

Unfortunately the Cowboys have become much less than a championship caliber franchise this era despite whatever hype our ownership peddles or hoopla the media delivers .

While we can continue to hope for more success like all fans do , Im not sure it’s healthy for fans to hold a franchise to a higher level of expectation that hasn’t been nor allows itself with all of its efforts to become .

Honestly with this ownerships priorities and dysfunctional ways I’m sometimes amazed we’re able to put together a playoff caliber team.

The fact without a normal GM and front office and one of the top Elite QB’s this era we can remain a playoff contender , speaks volumes to the talent we have amassed.

Fans want to bash our QB or coaching staff is futile . They certainly appear to be doing all they can with their abilities and situation.

Has anyone considered that there are possibly better situations with some of the top franchises this era from their front office down to create a greater culture and assemble and formulate more talent and teams that get in our way.

Which is basically what we were in our glory eras . We were a better franchise from top to bottom. HOF front office , coaching staffs and key positions .

But yet we continue expectations this current regime and situation to have more success. Mind boggling to me .

I'm neither disappointed or frustrated. It didn't ruin Christmas either. I think the last time I really cared about losing games was back in 2007, the year of the infamous trip to Cabo. It finally dawned on me that year that the supposed leader of the team didn't care whether the team won or lost, so why should I let losses bother me? At the same time the realization of the true Jerry Jones also came to light. Watching the games has become so much easier over the years when you approach it with a 'meh' attitude.

And no, things haven't changed over time. Dak doesn't change anything either. He's Romo 2.0 in more ways than his fans will admit, with a few minor differences. Romo wanted to bask in the celebrity spotlight while Dak keeps making promises he has no intention of fulfilling. Or maybe he can't.... Who knows.

These days I watch the games more because I just like the sport, at least for now.

It's who we are. I have a best friend who is a college fan more than anything else. He's had interest in the Cowboys this year because he knows I am a fan. Christmas day, he texts me, "Man, I don't think I can cheer on the Cowboys anymore. I already have the Cornhuskers doing this to me, I can't take anymore of it." :lmao:

My care level is very low at this point. Losses just don't bother me any longer. I don't think the Jones' care that much either, tbh.

Jerry and the boys built what they've always built for nearly the past 30 years, which is a 2nd round max playoff team that can throttle bad to mediocre teams but gets smashed against good teams.

Very tough situation in Lincoln. Going to Big 10 didn’t help them. At least in Big 12 they had opportunity to out recruit their conference .

I certainly like their current HC as he turned around Baylor but it’s a tougher road up there and the Big 10 just got stronger .

Supporting a more dormant franchise or school takes a different mindset . You lower your expectations while retaining hope. And you cherish the victories more like against big rivals . But winning championships is more of a pipe dream.

Problem for Cowboy fans is we have that championship history however remotely relived we are from that. And those winning ways from decades ago is what attracted all of these fans from across the country who abandoned their local or regional teams because they were dormant at the time .

My greatest hope for Cowboys and their fans in the coming decades as I’m long gone is there will be a cleansing of such. That going 4 or 5 decades without a championship that this following we have will flounder as glory era generations die off and without more success generations of this era will not have that history. And the Cowboys become more of what they were when I was growing up. Texas team followed by local and regional fans.

If any ownership has the ability and power of cleansing or washing out a fandom across the country , I’d give Jethro and the Jone$ a shot .

Despite him being one of the greatest promoters the NFL has seen he’s still riding off those early championships . He still has many supporters because of this .

Maybe once he is gone and this disappointment continues his next generation of Jone$ without championship success it will finally bleed out.

The greatest hope for the once proud Cowboys franchise is an ownership without this family.

Please don’t say that Jerry and his kid don’t care about winning….of course they do.

They just have no clue how to do it, and think so highly of themselves that learning from decades of failure isn’t possible.

This Saturday will be a nice commemoration of what our franchise once was.

And while it’s been a long time developing and only coming to fruition because of public pressure , it’s a reminder of what we could have been without the egos and ambitions that this ownership prevented us from becoming.

I truly believe as fans we could have forced the issue publicly for more change much like we have with this induction. But that time has probably passed .

No, it’s going to take the next generation of this family and probably fans to bring about the change that’s needed to allow our franchise to have the opportunity to become what it once was .

I truly hope for all Cowboy fans , our wonderful city in Dallas , Ft Worth, the neighboring North Texas area , immediate 5 state regional TV broadcast area and those fans relocated or bred around the country those days come again .

They are only interesting in winning their way. Thats not doing everything within your power to win if unable to step aside.
