Yes, the dysfunctional front office is the problem.
Has been the last 28 years.
That's my frustration.
Get a competent GM and we could be an elite contender again.
To be so close is heartbreaking.
Jerry will move on about the same time Dak will age out.
It's gonna be interesting to see what happens.
You are totally wrong at this point. The NFC is wide open and the Cowboys are a good team. The current team could actually win. Take a look at the Eagles and the 49ers right now. Your obsession with the gm is ridiculous.

Very tough situation in Lincoln. Going to Big 10 didn’t help them. At least in Big 12 they had opportunity to out recruit their conference .

I certainly like their current HC as he turned around Baylor but it’s a tougher road up there and the Big 10 just got stronger .

Supporting a more dormant franchise or school takes a different mindset . You lower your expectations while retaining hope. And you cherish the victories more like against big rivals . But winning championships is more of a pipe dream.

Problem for Cowboy fans is we have that championship history however remotely relived we are from that. And those winning ways from decades ago is what attracted all of these fans from across the country who abandoned their local or regional teams because they were dormant at the time .

My greatest hope for Cowboys and their fans in the coming decades as I’m long gone is there will be a cleansing of such. That going 4 or 5 decades without a championship that this following we have will flounder as glory era generations die off and without more success generations of this era will not have that history. And the Cowboys become more of what they were when I was growing up. Texas team followed by local and regional fans.
Yep, once the loyal wealthy baby boomer fans pass on and that money is not flowing into the Jones coffers things will have to change.
Of course that will be Stephen's problem as Jerry will be gone by then as well.
Probably get a real GM at that time.

What if they win this year John? It seems to me that you would have learned something last year after you gave up after the 1st game of the year.

It's funny because the 3 decades has nothing to do with the current team. Anything can happen going forward. The NFC and the Super Bowl is wide open and a lot of factors will go into what happens at the end.

It certainly isn't over for the Cowboys at this point. The Eagles don't look good right now and now the 49ers have issues with their oline and their qb.
Oh I agree fully. I remain optimistic. I really do. I don’t need to tell myself ‘I told you so’ later on.

They need some things to break their way, but so does every team.

I just don’t think Jerry’s mouth helps. Him getting up there and telling the public that it’s ok that we lost, and to still pay attention also tells the players that losing is acceptable.

That’s the culture he has created.

You are really something today. After watching the games yesterday, you should get an idea that the Cowboys are not dead.
I'm sorry, but did something else happen yesterday that I missed? The Raiders upset the Chiefs, the Eagles beat the Giants like they were supposed to, and the 49ers got walloped by a team that would hang 70 on Dallas without blinking.

Like, what are we even talking about anymore?

Yes, it did. The Eagles and the 49ers are struggling and have issues. 70? Lol. That is a hilarious and ignorant comment.

Oh really, the Cowboys just held a team that has scored 70 in a game to 1 touchdown.
So half of Miami's preseason team marched up and down the field for SIX scoring drives and you're bragging about it? Who won that game again, and what does that say about Dallas' offense?

Baltimore converts those other five drives into touchdowns. This isn't the "gotcha" that you think it is.

What matters are the games going forward. The Cowboys are in a good spot with 2 games to go. I know it's obviously over your head.

Please don’t say that Jerry and his kid don’t care about winning….of course they do.

They just have no clue how to do it, and think so highly of themselves that learning from decades of failure isn’t possible.
They don’t care enough to do whatever it takes to win, like hiring a real GM and HC while giving the HC the full authority he needs.
They may want to win but only as long as they are in control with their fingers all over it. That has only led to nearly 30 years of futility.

If you are going to lose on the road to a good football team, you lose the way they did to the Dolphins.. not the way they lost in Buffalo. That was a really bad look.

Just a reminder that this threads intention or core message wasnt to bash Jethro and the Jone$.

But for fans to realize our limitations and adjust expectations accordingly as a result.

This isn’t the same championship caliber franchise many of the last two generations grew to love . Only in name !!

That’s my message here.
Kinda funny you’re saying this isn’t a bash Jerry yet you do it in most of your posts in this tread you started.? How about we wait before passing judgement and see how it ends. What they were in the past means nothing to this year’s team and how far they go, you act like they are done for and it’s not close to being over. The “core message” lmao. I mean come on how do you come up with this stuff.

we are a good team that lacks mental and physical fortitude... routinely. Which is why we garner flags.
