Just a reminder that this threads intention or core message wasnt to bash Jethro and the Jone$.

But for fans to realize our limitations and adjust expectations accordingly as a result.

This isn’t the same championship caliber franchise many of the last two generations grew to love . Only in name !!

That’s my message here.

I made a comment nearly 20 years ago that the perpetual loser Texas Rangers would win a world series before Jerry could return to a super bowl. And damn if if didn't just happen....

They are only interesting in winning their way. Thats not doing everything within your power to win if unable to step aside.
Oh absolutely, but it all adds up.

Semantics really. They want to win desperately, but can’t see that they are what’s preventing it.

I think they do see it but choose to not change their ways or step aside .

Jethro admitted he’d have fired himself .

He gets it but doesn’t care enough. He’s not interested in playing ball unless he’s in control.

So, this is what a 2 point loss at Miami does to you. You guys are hilarious.

That and three decades of futility, yes.

I don’t begrudge you the way you see things, but in the book of most, they aren’t getting the benefit of the doubt.

No one is saying the season is over, it’s a discussion.

Season is going by the same 28 year script.

It’s typical for everyone to be disappointed and frustrated . But we should be used to it by now . Ive certainly become as numb as I think I can be.

It takes a different mindset that Cowboy fans had during our glory eras where we always believed we had a shot to win a championship. It’s time for fans to come to terms with what this franchise has become this era .

We aren’t that championship caliber franchise most of the last two generations grew up with, only in name. And I think is part of the problem or at least the foundation into our anger this era. We keep expecting to become that franchise again.

We are almost 3 decades removed from that once proud championship ways . And with an ownership which at least for most of this era hasn’t set their selfish ambitions aside allowing an opportunity for more success.

Cowboy fans must take all of this into consideration and adjust their emotions and attachments accordingly as we have become more similar to many other struggling franchises this era instead of the more elite franchises .
How many times are you going to make this poor me post? I’ve lost count.

Agree! My Super Bowl or bust mentality that was steeled in the 70s started to wane in the Garrett years. While I have more faith at times with him gone I still just shake a Magic 8 Ball as to where we will end the season.

The Cowboys can't win on the road because they are undisciplined and very stupid all roads lead to another penalty!!!!!

One of the main things that gets overlooked by Cowboys fans when they wag their finger at Jerry is that because we've had a lot of regular season success, we haven't had the luxury of collecting high draft picks and multiple picks in the first 2-3 rounds. At least Jimmy Johnson enjoyed that privilege for most of his time in Dallas. No, for the most part, it's been drafting in the lower half of rounds and never blowing up the house and starting over. I believe this has every bit as much to do with Cowboys not getting over the playoff hump as anything else!

While we can continue to hope for more success like all fans do , Im not sure it’s healthy for fans to hold a franchise to a higher level of expectation that hasn’t been nor allows itself with all of its efforts to become .

Honestly with this ownerships priorities and dysfunctional ways I’m sometimes amazed we’re able to put together a playoff caliber team.

The fact without a normal GM and front office and one of the top Elite QB’s this era we can remain a playoff contender , speaks volumes to the talent we have amassed.
Yes, if it was not for Will McClay and our amazing draft prowess we would be bottom dwellers.
Jerry does just enough to keep this team relevant.
That's nice and maddening all at the same time.

Fans want to bash our QB or coaching staff is futile . They certainly appear to be doing all they can with their abilities and situation.

Has anyone considered that there are possibly better situations with some of the top franchises this era from their front office down to create a greater culture and assemble and formulate more talent and teams that get in our way.

Which is basically what we were in our glory eras . We were a better franchise from top to bottom. HOF front office , coaching staffs and key positions .

But yet we continue expectations this current regime and situation to have more success. Mind boggling to me .
Yes, the dysfunctional front office is the problem.
Has been the last 28 years.
That's my frustration.
Get a competent GM and we could be an elite contender again.
To be so close is heartbreaking.
Jerry will move on about the same time Dak will age out.
It's gonna be interesting to see what happens.

It's funny because the 3 decades has nothing to do with the current team. Anything can happen going forward. The NFC and the Super Bowl is wide open and a lot of factors will go into what happens at the end.

It certainly isn't over for the Cowboys at this point. The Eagles don't look good right now and now the 49ers have issues with their oline and their qb.
