I wouldn’t say same boat without our starting QB .The packers last year were 2-6 but finished 6-2 so we are in the same boat

I agree. But 4 wins to 8-7 places us in the hunt which is all I said.4 wins would put us at 8-9................that is not going to do it for playoffs, we have to win out.
You win out, go 6-0, then that puts you at 10-7 on the year..............might be just enough for the 7th seed, but even that is iffy.
Unless the Eagles clinch everything and sit everybody, the Cowboys are not going to beat the Eagles so talk of running the table and making the playoffs is moot. NOT HAPPENNING.
I hear ya but if we can’t agree that being favored in a game is considered winnable then I’m not sure where our baseline can be.Pay no mind to my seemingly combative responses. This season has put me in a bad mood.
I don't know that we'll be favored in all 3 games. We haven't exactly been unbeatable at home. Plus Vegas chooses lines based on where they think the money is going, not who's better. I'd be willing to bet that the Cowboys have the most playoff losses as the favorite than any other team in the league.
Never underestimate our ability to blank up a S sandwich and meaninglessly drop draft positions…the doings of 9/8 make anything that goes on for the next several seasons completely irrelevant….as the old guy on the bike in Friday the 13 said….”your doomed….doomed”Never underestimate our ability to drop winnable games. Lol. Win against commanders was nice to see but we tried to give it to them. They just gave it back. 2 huge ST TDs late in the game won it. One was a dropped kickoff catch and the other was a play he should have dove on. Not to mention commanders missing that extra point.
That would be under the assumption “ better changes” are a possibility.Hate to say it but wins against bad teams right now somehow embolden Jerry into pretending he didn’t personally oversee this awful roster that couldn’t beat a good team with a two TD head start.
In other words don’t drink the kool aide. Empty seats, grocery bags, less jersey sales and boos at the stayjum are “the wins“ that could bring better changes.
I don't think we beat the steelers If wilson was there quarterback at the time. All I’m saying Rambo is this 2024 Cowboys team is not good. Bad teams can occasionally steal one or two games a year. Like BillParcells said years ago, “You are what your record says you are”. We are 4-7. The record says this is not a good team.
Examples- The chiefs lost to the colts in 2022, and to the raiders and broncos in 2023 when they were all bad teams. None of them made the playoffs. The 2021 Cowboys which was a good 12-5 team, lost at home to a bad non-playoff broncos team that year. Bad teams beat good teams several times a year in the NFL.
The NFL is very competitive. Bad teams occasionally beat good ones. Like us beating Pitts. The standings are what tells you what a team really is.
You can’t reject the possibility , only reject the possibility of it happening. You proposed a possibility. All I did was reject that possibility. Of course I could be wrong.
Gotta sip that blue stuff slower buddy. Jk.
Maybe not but Bob is right. We are what our record is . And right now this isn’t a very good team. Can it become better . Sure.I don't think we beat the steelers If wilson was there quarterback at the time.
And you really believe that’s going to make a difference . You have more hope than I do.I am a season ticket holder and I hope we lose every game from here on out. I wished we had also lost the Washington game. It’s tank/draft pick city or bust from my point of view.
A few trade backs could net us a pretty nice draft haul.
I don’t think anyone is saying “ real playoff contention”. Just that winning these next 4 places the team in a better position to be in the hunt.Possibly true but winning one potential game can't promise real playoff contention.
There'll be many others standing in the way of such success. We will see, though.
We enjoyed lots of great breaks paving our way in that game versus Washington.
I've got to admit to hoping you're correct, although, I wouldn't bet the house on it.
It's your right to hope for whatever pleases you. Once it occurs, let's hope you'll enjoy it, by all means.I would rather have earlier picks too, but would really enjoy watching them win as well, and believe that they can.
Nobody really thought they would lose their last 13 or 14 ganes in a row. That's REALLY hard to do...even if ur trying to. Some team along the way...no matter how bad you are, will just lay an egg, make crucial unexpected mistakes, and 1 or 2 wins will just fall in ur lap. That’s what I read this morning. 3 of our next 4 games we will be favored to win. And the only road game is at Carolina.
NYG, Cinn, Car and Tampa are all arguably winnable games now. If we could reach 7-7 we’d definitely be back in the hunt.
Wouldn’t that be something however unlikely it appears now. That’s what winning a game does for you. Amazing for a team that didn’t look like it could win a game rest of season.
None of those 3-8 teams started 3-2. And none had 3 consecutive 12 win playoff seasons. Big difference .Nobody really thought they would lose their last 13 or 14 ganes in a row. That's REALLY hard to do...even if ur trying to. Some team along the way...no matter how bad you are, will just lay an egg, make crucial unexpected mistakes, and 1 or 2 wins will just fall in ur lap.
But just take 2 seconds...and think about the Jets, Browns, Jags fans out there, with their 3-8 teams, and some of them thinking "all we need to do is win out, and we're in". You probably laugh at the notion....but That's who YOU are. You're a Jags fan eyeballing the playoffs.
All we need to do is win out? We've lost 100 games in a row! We needed multiple PAT misses and miracle kick returns to win a single game. We're back baaaaa-byyyy!!! LOL LOL
Lets at least wait to see if we are favored in those games. We're 3 1/2 point favorites at home against arguably the worst team in the league.I hear ya but if we can’t agree that being favored in a game is considered winnable then I’m not sure where our baseline can be.
Agree. If the Cowboys, Browns, Jags, and Jets win out, they could slide into the playoffs for a one-and-done beat down.None of those 3-8 teams started 3-2. And none had 3 consecutive 12 win playoff seasons. Big difference .
This isn’t t about promoting we will win the next 4 to place us in the hunt but simply the possibilities if we did which is unlikely.
There’s really nothing to shoot down. It’s a no brainer.
all that is true, and he was responding to you saying they couldn’t beat a good team, but they have. All I’m saying Rambo is this 2024 Cowboys team is not good. Don't use Cowboys and playoffs in the same sentence! hahaThat’s what I read this morning. 3 of our next 4 games we will be favored to win. And the only road game is at Carolina.

We really need a high draft pick to stock up draft ammo. And you really believe that’s going to make a difference . You have more hope than I do.
While I can laugh at our owner taking the heat for losing I can never root for us to lose regardless if we get a higher draft pick which is assuming we take advantage of.
Losing never breeds success especially with a losing culture our owner has bred.
