Exactly……the “Dak only” fans would be the ones on the hot box…..Rush has already proven himself and is playing with house money

nobody but nobody can put fault at a UDFA with 5 starts making 970K a year losing to a 5-0 team…..house money, baby!

To hell with that.. My assessment of how a player plays has negative zero to do with how much he is making. If Rush plays well and we lose I will be sad for the team but acknowledge he played well. If he plays like crap and we lose I will call that as I see it as well. Same with if he plays like crap or just okay but the defense carries us to another win by shutting down the other team and handing us points. I can't for the life of me understand why it's so difficult to do this.. It's like people lose their ability to reason when watching these games based on emotional investment. My only real emotional investment is wanting my team to win. Everything else is gravy.. Who gets the credit.. the game balls.. the names in the paper.. I could really care less..

If Dak plays it's a Jerry decision. Mike has said he wants to see a full week of practice, and Dak has not had that. Jerry can't resist the urge to Rush him back.

If he practices all this week then that would be a full week. Jerry is not going to force the issue. If McCarthy does not think he is ready then Rush starts.

He hasn't practiced all this week, though. Today was his first return, and it was limited. He was a DNP yesterday.

As for Jerry not forcing the issue, I'm not nearly as convinced as you that he wouldn't do that. He's been trying to rush this recovery process since the day of the surgery.

If he is 100% healthy AND had a full week of practice, he should play. If not, it would be dumb to throw him out there rusty as an old nail and expect him to succeed. It is one game. Make the playoffs and prepare to defeat the Eagles when it counts when they meet for the 3rd time.

I don't know that he's been trying to rush the recovery process as much as he's been trying to peddle hope to sell tickets and stay relevant. And now that the team has won he shifted from peddling hope to sell tickets and stay relevant to peddling controversy to sell tickets and stay relevant. Where Jerry comes down on who should start at QB shifts with his mood or based on which answer he thinks will generate the most buzz. One minute it's "Dak is our starter" and the next minute it's "Cooper Rush is making it hard to take him out.. " That's just Jerry being Jerry.. It's not going to change.. and I'm not going to start caring about it. McCarthy and the medical staff will decide when Dak plays.. All that background noise Jerry makes is just for entertainment purposes.

You literally made an entire thread highlighting a less than perfect completed pass by Rush on a converted 4th down with screen shots, videos, and everything.

Who do you think you're fooling?

Bro get real lol its going to be a distraction if we win again without him. So people can actually Rush is better than Dak

I agree. But winning with backup and having controversy doesnt distract team as much as losing with your starter. Media would love nothing more than to have Dak play and lose.

Rush playing and winning is good. Dak playing and losing is starter fluid for the talking heads.

If offense is stagnating but the game is winnable I can see bringing Dak in as a spark in an important game. Question is when do you do that?

Seems like Rush will have to look awful the first few series to the point that the coaching staff confidently feels Rush cant win them the game.

They’re just being secretive so the news that his thumb was amputated isn’t leaked yet.

Think he may dress as a back-up

Dak Prescott listed as practice participant for first time since thumb injury

I posted about this earlier in the week. Have him ready in case the time comes to break the emergency glass. If the defense has the inevitable off day having a guy who has lit this team up for 400 yards and 3 TDs on more than one occasion is a nice insurance policy.

I think Dak is going to play. If I were the coach he dresses. Coop not moving the team? I bring Dak in.

I'm on this boat. Dress him as the backup and play him if you need him. Coming off the bench to rescue the team when it is trailing would be the best scenario for him. If he can't rescue the team, the spin is that we weren't playing well before we put him in and he couldn't overcome that. Plus, if we're behind, he's really our best bet (some fans would disagree) if we're having to pass a lot to catch up ... if he's fully healthy.

I like this take.

It protects Dak from talking heads if he plays and doesnt win.

Now...if he comes in a looks awful...ouch.
