This is an example of someone seeing what they wanna see. When Dak plays like crap I never hesitate to say "Dak played like crap." Fortunately Dak delivers far fewer "played like crap" games than he does great games. I will always come down on the side of wanting to see the Cowboys run the ball more.. I don't think Moore wants to and I'm not convinced Dak does either. It's because they believe passing is the best way to win.. They're wrong. That's not to say you can't win sometimes slingin it 50 times.. but over the course of league history teams that throw it 50+ times have an abysmal record even though most of the time those passers will have gained more "yards are yards" per play than they would have had those been runs.

Moore announced to the world that he doesn't understand that a 3 yard run beats on a defensive front more than a 6 yard pass. A d-line can stand up and watch you throw slants and WR screens all day.. but if you have five 320 pound behemoths lean on them all day they eventually wilt. Linebackers who don't have to worry about the run will always be in your passing lanes and get better depth on their drops.. D-linemen who don't have to worry about the run can come after your QB with impunity. But "yards are yards."

Even though I know you will forget you saw it (again) I will say it (again) ... Dak played like crap against Tampa.. and he absolutely MUST play better when he gets back. If he can't.. he needs to sit.. Period. I give him maybe one game to get his legs under him. If he stinks two games in a row and the teams starts spiraling, sit him, draft his replacement and trade him in the offseason.
I think that is what many here are missing. Those against Dak but are for Rush, it is less about the person and more about the play style. Dak tries too hard, he plays like he has something to prove to the world. Rush plays within his ability which is below Dak's physical ability but he know he has to protect the ball a 3 and out is better than a INT. When Dak gets back I hope he sees that sometimes a 4 yard gain is better than a 25 yard gain from a play development perspective.

If Dak plays, Cowboys loose!
Jerry needs to meet with all receivers and have a discussion about dropping balls. It appears certain receivers only want to catch balls from Dak.

QB competition is a good thing. Maybe he will start playing better. But my opinion about Dak is that he will never have a Super Bowl win, his best chance is sitting on the bench. Seems like Jerry gives a big contract and then the players lay down on him, Romo did that.
Football is a team sport not a individual sport, dak plays like it is a individual sport. He needs to stop. And that applies to the offensive coordinator too.

I appreciate dak, but Rush more. Rush showed that any quarterback could come here and make the team look good. I wish we could give dak more money. *beats chest and points up*
Throw in the shirtless Dak in the locker room acting like he was at the helm for the win! I don’t know why JJ and the HOF doesn’t just make an exception for the great one, throw out all the rules and put him in the ROH and HOF.

I've said many times it took Romo until his 10th year in the league and his 7th year starting to finally see the light. He didn't start to learn that there is value to handing it off for a yard and a half at times. Because of what it forces the defense to do. Which is play honest. Even if they stop the run all damn day, the point is keeping them prepared to stop the run all damn day. Never allowing them to rush 3 guys and drop 8 and neuter your passing game. A lot of fans and so called "media experts" (and Kellen Moore) completely missed that class in football school. They watched the Super Bowl and saw the Rams run it 23 times for 40-ish yards and proclaim "Stafford won the game without a running game.." Ignoring the fact that the Rams called 23 runs despite averaging under 2 yards per carry. Because McVey DIDN'T miss that class that people like Moore skipped. Our only hope is that these last 4 weeks have reminded Dak of these things.. I think it's too late for Moore.

Also the checkdowns even if it is a pass play if nothing is there 3-4 yards on a dump off to a back or underneath guy is better than trying to squeeze something on a low percentage pass attempt.

No they are afraid he will do well. But I know they are wanting a loss if he does play.
I don't care who starts. Just go and win.
I was on the Rush train until last week, he just cant move the offense the way it needs to be moved. Guys highly intelligent and is 20x more accurate than Dak but Dak has the offense humming when he's out there, excluding week 1 lol

It's so weird that you guys think there is any pressure whatsoever for the folks who think Dak is average. After seeing this offensive line miraculously become one of the best in the league again after Coop took over, seeing the holding and false start penalties evaporate, seeing us stick to the ground game instead of checking to a pass, and most importantly...winning, why would there be any pressure on "the He-Man Dak Haters Club?"

Dak is shook. His words and his play have shown that. His throwing thumb was broken. That's not going to improve his game when he comes back. Have you ever broken a finger? It takes a LONG time for it to "feel" right. I had a boxers break on my pinky and it took about 8 months with therapy to get it back to where I could shake hands with someone without wincing.

The only thing worrisome to us is his talk of taking the offense "up a notch." This is just putting unnecessary pressure on himself to do just that, and he'll be looking to fling it all over the place and play Dak- ball, which is kind of like hero ball, but there's no hero. This offense doesn't need to score 30ppg. It needs to score 1 more ppg than the defense allows, and that's exactly what they need to drill into Dak's skull.

I have no doubt we can keep winning with Dak, if Cooper Rush can do it, there's 0 reason Dak can't. Right?

Yeah...that pressure? It's not over here boss.
Y’all acting nervous. I don’t get it. But some of you actually think Rush is better than him some aren’t even qualified to have an opinion. Same numbskulls who thought Dinucci would take his spot and that Dalton made him expendable.

I don't think you guys realize how pressure works. There's literally none on this side of the fence. Our point has already been proven, a mediocre qb can win with this team. A top 10 qb should be able to as well. One would think.

Between the shirtless photo-bomb, the "take the offense up a notch," and the "pop on my balls," I can't think of a time where a starting QB looked so insecure.

Someone needs to give Dak a hug.

Seriously though, Dak's going to come back to either a 5-2 or 6-1 team with one of the best defenses, offensive lines, and running games in the league. It's all there on a platter for him. No excuses. Go win.

I agree with your take but the question I have is this: Moore is calling running plays with Rush at QB and it has been shown Dak called out of rushing plays to passing plays so is it really Moore's fault or Dak's desire to try and prove he is a top passing QB in the league? The second question is do you think Dak has it in him to humble himself and not be the center of attention and play more like Rush in terms of playing within the system instead of the system being Dak?

You make BS points with all due respect because you claim people think Rush is better than Dak or Dalton was better than Dak while ignoring the fact many said it's about Dak pressing instead of playing within the system that was successful for him in 2016 and is successful for Rush in 2022. Most fans know Dak is a better QB than Rush in terms of physical abilities but there is no denying that Dak has been in his head and it has shown on the field. If Dak comes back and plays like Rush in terms of reading the field and not pressing then the offense will improve. The question is and will be can Dak allow himself to play within the system and not try and BE the system.

Last weeks 105 yards passing was an anomaly. The game plan wasn’t going to produce much more with just 16 attempts. If Gallup and Lamb don’t drop 2 of those passes in their hands, the numbers become 12-16 for about 145 yards or way more if Gallup was able to get to a wide open end zone

but the point is that the in game situation called for just 16 attempts. Belichick has done exactly this several times before and even less attempts in certain situations.

there is a vast difference from the Bucs game where the ball was thrown 29 times by Dak and it yielded just 134 yards. Those attempts should have yielded well over 200 yards but only 14 were completed out of the 29.

again, as I’ve opined, I hope that neither one of these guys are starting as the Qb for the Cowboys in 2023. There ARE ways to get great quarterbacks….ask the Browns who are sacrificing short term sacrifice for long term gain with the massage boi.

The game plan likely changed to be even more conservative after jumping out to the quick lead from the defense. I don't understand why people are clamoring to get back to Dak-ball and throwing it 30+ times a game when the same people have been yelling about leaning on the run game for years, because deep down they know he's an average bus driver. Yeah he's put up some pretty stats but what has it gotten us? The number 1 offense? And what else?

Yup they are executing a solid game plan based on knowing their defense is special. It's worked very single week Dak hasn't been in there.
