Supposedly Huff liked Dallas, but can't wait for them to get their salary cap space. Stephen needs to get something done pronto. It's one thing to not target top FAs because of the cost, it's another thing to lose a quality player because of the cap. He has said it isn't an issue, put up or shut up time.

Huff could have done as Durant did. I would like to get Huff but Cowboys said from the get go they were not going to be big players in FA. I don't know why this comes as a surprise now?

No more older safeties. Draft a safety and then pick up a cheap option later. I dont want Huff and I am a Longhorn.

You still have to provide depth back there with average to good players homie.. We saw what happened when we had to count on the likes of Danny McCray-Eric Frampton

I like huff but if he can't wait and wants to get paid right away I can't blame him. I'd like him in the fold but won't hold my breath

Frampton seemed servicable. The real issue was McCray.

Big difference between being "big players" in FA and having 100k in cap space while quality players are available cheap. I'm not saying Huff is a must sign, but FS is a need.

Depends on how Dallas feels about him. Is he worth the money he wants? Do they feel they can get similar quality cheaper?

If Huff can't wait, I'm not sure Dallas feels compelled to "put up" to get him. I'd like the Cowboys, too, but they don't value my opinion.

If Dallas really absolutely wanted him, then it would create the space to get him.

Its an opinion. But you tow the company line and don't have an opinion. Way to express yourself.
Fyi huff had more PD's last season than Allen has in his CAREER. That's why I prefer him.
Allen is a career backup, Huff an ex all pro.
Posters that resort ti the "coaches know best" don't really understand what a message board is for. Hell if we all did what you just did there would d be zero topic of conversation. We would just wait for something to happen then agree wuth it. Yay!

Believing Kiffin is more knowledgable than X poster is also an opinion. And a discussion. you base yours off of pass deflections. I base mine off of faith in coaches.

Huff was a 2nd team all-pro. does that mean he will play at an all-pro level his whole career? no.. nor is that true of Allen. Back-ups don't always stay that way...

Chris Johnson was an All-Pro too.. First team in fact... therefore he must be better than someone like Ben Tate.. a career Back-up.

rather than disparage my opinion because it is the same as the supposed "company line" you didn't answer how much of Allen you have seen.

From what I understand dallas wants huff but hes not waiting like durant for us to free up cap space. So he'll sign with somebody else most likely.

I drank the Stephen Jones Kool-aid about the cap not being a problem. Right now it's a problem. I know it can get resolved, but it couldn't have been the plan all along. 100k in cap space is ridiculous.

I wouldn't doubt that Dallas wanted to have either Spencer or Romo signed long-term by now, but the Cowboys have a few more moves they could do to create space if they really wanted to.

I don't think they believe any of the guys they are visiting with right now are worth making those moves for, probably because it would affect other moves Dallas wants to make this year or next year. They'd rather do like they did with Durant and reach an agreement that will wait until one of their big deals is done.

I've been working ungodly hours and haven't kept up with anything Cowboys, but this is awesome news. I'm a huge Huff fan and he would be a great addition to our secondary. Doesn't hit quite as hard as Sensy, but covers better. Very fast too.

CowboyMcCoy I think Huff is all around a best option at Safety than Sens. Sensy just was way out of position too much last year.

He's the free safety we've all be waiting for. And he has never played on a good team. The guy has a lot of raw talent.

Like others have said it just means they wont target a Safety in the first round. So in other words, yes we will have to address this again in a year or two

We really shouldn't target a safety in the first round. We have huge needs at offensive linemen and we still have a lot of hope in our young guys in Matt Johnson and Barry Church. A guy like Huff would be a tremendous boost for our team, in more ways than one. I'm really hoping we find a way to get this done.

The reason why is that Huff will lose money as free agency goes on, he would rather make more cash now!
