they should cut him if they dont intend to sign him long term. There would be nothing to lose at this point and only money to gain.

thats how i look at it.. if we arent goign to sign him long term cut him. thats an extra 5 million guys

Oh no, Hardy said stuff on Twitter!! What a terrible person.

Some members of the media hate the guy as they feel he is guilty despite not even having a charge on his record. So any little piece of info that comes up they can spin and drag him through the mud. Want to know how to stop seeing Hardy as a distraction? Stop reading all the BS that comes from the media. Just watch the games and enjoy it.

Watching this board turn on Hardy shows how much power the media has in our country.
From sports to presidential elections the media agenda actually convinces people how they should think.
It's a shame the media is so influential when their motivations are not neutral in any capacity.

More sheep being led to the slaughter.

What is the media telling me to think about Hardy?

To be against signing him from the beginning, but root for his football success because he's a Cowboy? To hope he outplays a new contract in Dallas and signs somewhere else in the offseason? That he's racked up some moderate stats but disappears when the chips are down, and considering the pure stupidity with which he conducts himself publicly, that he's not worth the headache? That he seems to lack all regard for the organization which he represents, and that that is definitely not the kind of player I want on my team?

It's more than just his personal situation and the cloud of chaos that follows him around. He's not playing to the level of his salary and certainly done nothing on the field to convince me that he's worth a franchise contract.

That's what I think about Greg Hardy, and the media has nothing to do with it.

I'm betting he'll overprice himself in the offseason and make it easy for the FO to bid him adieu.

4-5 weeks ago, he was a "beast" when sacking Tom Brady. Make up your minds.

God forbid that different fans have different opinions regarding a player. Or that opinions can change based on recent performance.

I guess we should all just constantly wallow in unfleeting misery, such as yourself.

You mean, the games where he's a non-factor and totally absent in the fourth quarter. Yeah. I enjoy those.

Is it an extra 5 million in capspace for next year or just an extra 5 million in Jerry's pocket for this year? Pleading cap rule ignorance on this.

Might as well let him go so he doesn't waste his career in this circus. Same with Dez. We've already wasted Witten and Romo.

Can always hope, but the way he's playing now, that's not happening. I think he may have already yapped his way out of a big contract anywhere but Dallas.

So the last two games makes him cut worthy? Or is it the flood of negative reporting that is fueling the idea he is a distraction that is responsible for the five losses since he has suited up?

Just trying to keep up with the flip flopping.

I ask this with all seriousness. Is there a point where Hardy goes too far? Miss a few more meetings? Miss a practice? Have another couple of sideline meltdowns?

I wouldn't cut him now but at some point, he has to act like regular teammate and not just do whatever he wants whenever he wants.

He could throw a jersey at Garrett.

I emailed the author last night and told him there was no way we were cutting Hardy. I'm anxious to see if he responds. I'll post it if he does.

There will always be a team about as desperate for a passrush as we are, despite any and all disadvantages.

If it's not used, I think it's five mil in cap space as soon as the paperwork goes through, and then carries over to next year. It's also five mil still sitting in the team's bank account, but I guarantee that if there was an impact player Jerry could buy with that cash, he'd pull the trigger post haste. Every team has the same amount of money to spend on player salaries, and money unused under the cap is talent other teams have that we don't. At least, that's how I look at it.

I don't think you can control him. He's going to do what he's going to do. If the Cowboys keep him they're going to have to learn to live with it.

Just trying to keep up with the flip flopping.
Just to be clear, I don't want to cut him and I supported the move to sign him. I root for my team to win, not to give me life lessons on how to be a decent human being.

There are maybe 5-6 posters by my count so far that have supported cutting him. I don't know if they never supported him or are indeed flip flopping. There are reports of him missing meetings and he has been a PR nightmare since being allowed to talk to the media. I think those two things more than on field performance have led to (some!) people changing their opinion on him.

My issue with your stance is that you, and you aren't the only one guilty of this, are lumping all opinions by various posters on this site and equating it to mean that this board as a whole is flip flopping. That is not the case. There are a lot of different posters, some more rational than others, that have different opinions. Some of us pump sunshine (though there deservedly isn't much of that anymore) some of us are negative, and the majority of us were optimistic before Romo went down. The majority grew concerned when he did, and the majority are now accepting the reality that 2-7 brings.

If you are directing your flip flopping accusation at only the person you quoted, and have evidence that he is indeed flip flopping, then my apologies. But that is not the case, is it?
