Cowboys can save $5 million if they cut Hardy before next game

Love him or hate him for it but Jerry is a pretty loyal dude. We knew what we were getting when we signed him, why would we cut him when he hits rock bottom? The guy is obviously not handling the ridicule very well but eventually the media will die down and move on to the next story which they already are starting to do.

The media will never die down because Hardy can't help himself. He will always be a distraction.

Sad thing is, the defensive player who seems to have the most impact when he plays, David Irving, can't even get on the field. That's the definition of a sub-par coaching staff.

My question is: Would Hardy's "antics" even be a topic if the Cowboys were winning? I guess we will not know until it happens.

That is really my question. I also refuse to believe what he is doing is a root cause of the losing either. If so, then this team is not as mentally strong as advertised.

He still gets to the QB better than anyone else on the d-line.

No. Anybody in Minny, who I remind the majority of Minnesota did not want AD back as a child beater last year, complaining on that 80 yard run the other day? Nope.

Totally agree. If Witten, Dez, and Church can only lead when Tony is playing, then they lack the leadership they been given credit for as captains.

What is the media telling me to think about Hardy?

To be against signing him from the beginning, but root for his football success because he's a Cowboy? To hope he outplays a new contract in Dallas and signs somewhere else in the offseason? That he's racked up some moderate stats but disappears when the chips are down, and considering the pure stupidity with which he conducts himself publicly, that he's not worth the headache? That he seems to lack all regard for the organization which he represents, and that that is definitely not the kind of player I want on my team?

It's more than just his personal situation and the cloud of chaos that follows him around. He's not playing to the level of his salary and certainly done nothing on the field to convince me that he's worth a franchise contract.

That's what I think about Greg Hardy, and the media has nothing to do with it.

Haha...hey at least you believe you are not influenced by the media.
So why didn't you ever want him here?
You say he isn't worth all the headache... What headache? Do you mean the headache the media has been trying to make him out to be? Surely you must know of other things about him that you are referring to since you said what you think about Hardy has "nothing to do with " the media.

So how many meetings has Demarcus Lawrence missed in the last year? I'm going to bet you don't know. I wonder why?

So the last two games makes him cut worthy? Or is it the flood of negative reporting that is fueling the idea he is a distraction that is responsible for the five losses since he has suited up?

Just trying to keep up with the flip flopping.

His sideline tirade and mini-assault on Bisaccia was enough for me. I don't need anyone to explain or spin that for me -- he's gone.

BTW, the CZ is media too. News would historically be defined as facts, supported by eye-witness accounts, and without opinions or speculation unless carefully worded as such. Those ethical parameters have melted away, even from the major networks, so even postings listed here as "news" aren't completely reliable either. One dissenting voice without any credibility is all is takes to create a big story and rise to the top of the broadcast. The 24/7 media has deteriorated to simple entertainment, and viewership (ratings) drives the bus.

And the lonely voice of youth cries, "What is truth?"

All in all, the losing is what is fueling the "distraction". You never hear about distractions when a team is winning. It does cure all.

I am just hoping that they finally win Sunday to have a week of semi-peace. This has been a grueling season in so many ways and I wish it were just over in a way.

Yeah sure it doesn't. So why aren't you calling for Sean Lee's release since he isn't living up to his contract either?

they should cut him if they dont intend to sign him long term. There would be nothing to lose at this point and only money to gain.

I don't know why we care about gaining money unless we're expecting Dallas to use the $5 million for something like an extension for a player under contract. Cap space isn't a problem, so there's no real reason to cut Hardy without a plan for the money.

He'll have a spotlight on him and a microphone in his face as long as he's in Dallas. The media may be busy sensationalizing more recent sound bites, but they are all waiting for Hardy to do something idiotic. And I have complete faith that he will not disappoint.

thats how i look at it.. if we arent goign to sign him long term cut him. thats an extra 5 million guys

5 million on this year's cap. Trade deadline has passed and there's nobody worth 5 million we need to sign. Unless we can carry over the 5 million to next year's cap then I couldn't care less. Jerry's money, not mine.

The media will die down. All relevant information surrounding his case has been released to the public so the worst is behind him unless some exclusive Nicole Holder interview which is unlikely considering I am sure that is a stipulation of their agreement. He may always be a distraction because of the things he will say but the horrible press and the name calling has peaked.

That's the point, we can carry over the money.

Watching this board turn on Hardy shows how much power the media has in our country.
From sports to presidential elections the media agenda actually convinces people how they should think.
It's a shame the media is so influential when their motivations are not neutral in any capacity.

More sheep being led to the slaughter.

Post of the month!!

Really?

Because Sean Lee isn't an uncontrollable head case who can't help but say something idiotic every time he opens his mouth?

Nah. I'm gonna stop there. If you really don't see a difference between Sean Lee and Greg Hardy, there's not a lot I can say.
