They should absolutely have conversations with these guys. But there is a spending limit, and Rico and Osa might be too much. Lewis on a similar contract to his last 1 would be great, rico if he's 3 or under perfect, Gholston if he's relatively cheap as well. You can probably sign all 3 of these guys and still be cheaper than what Osa will get on the open market.

Ware's final 3 seasons with Denver, he managed 80 tackles total, while missing 11 games.

In 2007 and 2008, he achieved 84 tackles each year.

He was clearly on the decline when he left dallas.

I think Osa will be more expensive than people realize.

I would try to keep JLew around with Diggs knee situation.

Free agency is a must this season or we have no chance. This roster just has too many holes.

What were his snap counts like in Denver compared to in Dallas?

Here we are another football season over, and the Dallas Cowboys are once again going to hit with a bunch of pending free agents that they need to make sure they resign, or at least attempt to keep in the building.

They have multiple players whose contracts are expiring. These players include defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, defensive end Chauncey Golston, and running back Rico Dowdle.

If they learned anything from last season, the Cowboys need to try and get as many of these players to stay at the Star as possible. Dan Quinn took half the roster with him and made the NFC title game, who knows what will happen if they let a few of these guys walk again.
  • Osa Odighizuwa
  • Rico Dowdle
  • Jourdan Lewis

JLew I 1000% agree on.

There will be UDFA equal to or better than Dwodle at a fraction of cost. Remember Rico has only had one fully healthy season.

Torn on Osa only because in recent history highest FA costs are for IDL. but we need 3 more total and it's the slowest developing position. At the end of the day, doubtful in this weak FA class will we find better option though.

I don't think rico's as critical as you think, I like him and I know if he's used properly maybe we get more out of him, but look at his age and what his demands might be versus getting a player like him on a veteran minimum or you pick two players in the draft at running back and spend the money elsewhere. I mean the lack of touchdowns and breakaway you know like longer runs would concern me if this guy is asking for too big a bag..

My list is OSA, Turpin, Jlew, and Hoffman. bTW and what people might not see to be important is the new coach in Sorenson he might be in a bad spot if 75% of our special teams players that we depend on are all gone except for Aubrey I mean the whole entire operations in Goodwin, sieg, and anger all gone with Turp as well... that could hurt Aubrey ie operations of kick is important and your snapper and holder are changed out?

I wouldn't blame any of them if they chose to leave because they wanted to win something more meaningful. Demarcus Ware finally got tired of Jerry's circus and it worked out fine for him.

The only reason to play in Dallas is for the money. Get on Jerry's good side and you will be showered with tons of cash and not have to do anything to get it. Look no further than Dak for a perfect example.

I’d like to keep osa and lewis which means Jerry will let them walk and sign Dowdle and gholsten

We need a WR in FA in the worst way and too many needs in draft

Lewis and Osa to Washington..
Everybody is saying this but I would not be so sure. As I said, Washington already has Payne and Allen and they drafted Newton, who looks lik he might be a player. Why would they pay Osa $20 million a year to be a rotational player? Why would Osa want to go to Washington to become a rotational player? Washington has a lot of money to spend but they also have a lot of free agents of their own to sign. People are drawing this connection to Quinn. I am not sure how real that is. I can see Golston signing with Washington before Osa.

Lewis has already stated he wants to stay in Dallas. I think the Cowboys will get that done.

Way to add to the conversation.....

You want to argue he wasn't on the decline?
can you prove he wasnt helping another player?

can you prove he wasnt asked to do something else?

define decline?

HIs job is what is asked of him, not to keep steady numbers. So please explain a decline in a prolific player . You dont know , like he was in Dallas, targeted and had three people try to stop him, as some teams did, show us the stats there.

this decision comes down to the Jones boys and its simple.

Does JJ think he has a SB winning team? To be fair he thinks that every year.

How will we know? Yes, he ll resign and make head scratching contracts this year.

Does JJ feel Shot can and should be allowed to build the team he believes in and HC and Lord of teh franchise are on the same page?

Let most of the team walk, scratch 2025 and build something worth coaching.

Our answer will come really fast.
