Anyone else noticed as many as FOUR Eagles assist coaches names are coming up for head coaching vacancies ( defensive and offensive coor, quarterback coach and even the special team coach ). Last year we finished with exact same record yet NOT ONE OUR assist coaches even got a call. Yes, Jason was named COY but league showed no respect for his staff.............

But still, FOUR Eagle coaches names being a mention for potential HCs....my point, maybe our staff need some fresh coaching talent. Bottom line......Garrett and his staff are staled........hate to say it but it's true.

Linehan certainly did get respect and I don’t know that we can say he didn’t get calls. A lot of people are acting like Linehan is Garrett or something. It may very well be time for him to leave here, but Linehan is considered to be a good coordinator. People question if Garrett would be hired again if let go. Well Linehan would easily work again if he wanted to.
Before the season ESPN had Linehan as the 3rd best offensive coordinator in football.

They aren't running antiquated schemes rooted in the 90's. They run modern aggressive schemes on both sides of the ball. Yes, their QB may check down a lot buy their route combos are modern and schemes to create mismatches. Ours are schemed to make our players win matchups even though they aren't talented enough to do it. Most teams are looking for young exciting coaching prospects running modern schemes. You can't find that in Dallas.

They had all just signed new contracts.

Our Assistants were talked about but they were under contract like you say, plus Jerry pays the highest salaries to his coaches. No owner in the NFL would even try to outbid Jerry on something that doesn't fall under the salary cap.

If your looking for a coach, do you want to pick up a guy from a team that went 14-2 or 8-8? You'll never hear about the Cleveland coaches being wanted in New England for a good reason.

Eagles coaches are under contract also.
It doesn’t matter in the NFL. If you are interviewing them for a promotion they can be under contract. Team give permission for this.

The reality is no one wants to hire and Assistant coach when the rest of the league realize long ago that superior talent is the only way we win. Not superior coaching.

Anytime there is criticism leveled at Jerry or our coaches some usual suspects come out blindly in their defense. They are in this thread trying to deflect from facts

No ampunt of incompetence is enough for them

And why is this relevant?

This forum is becoming more like an Eagles forum than a Cowboys forum.

As previously stated, the Cowboys coordinators are older, just signes extensions and they’ve already failed miserably as head coaches. If Linehan was 10 years younger and didn’t fail as a coach before, he would’ve got some calls but how do you know he didn’t get any calls? Because Ian Rapoport didn’t say so?

Eagles are going to be one and done. Even if Wentz didn’t get hurt, they weren’t going far, Seattle exposed them.
