Does anyone have his stats from each hashmark last year?
I dont know why they wont bring in competition for him already
Not many players available.
The Vikings just traded a 5th for a kicker. So dan bailey will be available soon
We like our guys!
I don't get that either.
No competition. Cut his *** and sign Matt Bryant
I don’t like him from either hash.
This time I'm not so sure.
Does Ken Willis have a son?
We moved on from Dan Bailey and got the same performance Bailey gave the Vikes for much less money. If they were willing to move on from Bailey then they make a move if it makes sense.
Maher wasn’t bad last year even if he wasn’t automatic.
So throw and run left when in FG range?
I am about as leary of Maher as I would be on an Indonesian beach. Shaky at best.....
Last season he had:
4 missed Field Goal attempts in Open Air stadiums.
2 missed Field Goal attempts in Retractable Roof or Dome stadiums.
1 blocked Field Goal attempt.
That's the entire sum of his missed Field Goal attempts from last season.
Someone mentioned on another thread that Maher’s replacement in the CFL is an English soccer player who is 51 of 52 so far.
Matt Bryant is also still available and he was over 90% last year.
Bottom line: there’s kickers available. They’re enamored with his ability to kick from 50+ yards.
They should be concerned from any hash, distance or place in the field when it comes to Maher kicking FGs. Garrett loves to take FGs so I haven't a clue why he doesn't get someone dependable.
What makes anyone think Maher doesn’t have “competition”? There’s 31 other training camps going on right now. Each team will play 4 preseason games.
We’ll keep our eye on kickers getting cut if Maher doesn’t show that he’s worthy to be the guy in Week 1.
If he’s a bum for the rest of preseason, you think the Cowboys will say, “Oh well, we didn’t bring in anyone to compete with him, so I guess we’re stuck with Maher”???
I hope they bring him back !
I've got a feeling we might end up with Dan Bailey again when the final cuts are in.
Nevertheless, anything could happen, with or without Maher. It's a conundrum!
One thing seems likely; eventually, some pretty good kickers may be up for grabs.
