According to @RapSheet The #Cowboys contacted DeMarcus Ware today to let him know they want to keep him. But not at $13M per year.
Fine. now cut him so he can go some where else and have a chance to win a championship before he retires. this is the best thing that could happen to ware. good luck with George Selvie this year.

I agree...I can't see him packing up his whole life and moving his family to a new state at this stage in his career..He will take a pay cut

I think the paycut will be down to 7 or 8 mil. Thats what his base has been until this year. In the 7 mil range.

If he's cut, I wonder if he'll go to NYG, WSH, or PHI and take less than Jerry was offering.

Speaking of E-Lie, the league leader in interceptions and bone head plays, where have all the members of the E-Lie Love Group gone? You know, those "Cowboy Fans" who love to heap praise on the #1 NFL Goofball while bashing their own QB relentlessly.

I wish we had 2 Super Bowl victories in the last 5 years to look back on. We just have the one measly wild card win.

But yes, let's keep dogging every QB who has had success at the highest level in their profession and propping up our goofball QB we have.

Don't be shocked to see him in Philly.(so he get's to play Jerry and the cowboys twice)NE and GB are other options.

Serious question: if we treat Ware like a washed-up bum who should be thankful he's even getting an offer (roughly 80% of the Zone's feelings, in my opinion, and not even counting the ones who just want to release him under any condition) will it become a self-fulfilling prophecy? Everyone is wired different...

I think that's a little light.

The last couple seasons, as others have posted Ware has made like $6 mil per season in base salary.

I don't see the Cowboys offering him $8-$9 mil a season based on what he's done over the last two seasons.

I think the Cowboys get him down to $6-$7mil per season over the next two seasons. And this will be a multiple season adjustment.

That would save the Cowboys about $12 mil against the cap between this season and next.

I'd be comfortable with that.

Nope. just pointing out that Ware is the least of this team problems. cut him all you want, and this team is still going to lose. reminds me of when Jerry firedRob Ryan last year and hired Kiffin. how did that work out for the Cowboys. WAKE UP!

You'd think they were communicating via homing pigeons with as long as it is taking to discuss the contract.

I guarantee our final bid will be better than anything he could get with another team. We have the sunk cost that no other team does. Over 8 million. And Ware would prefer to stay put.

Me too, but it won't be half like Free took. It'll be more like 75-80%. We'll shave a few million off, which is fine by me.

Reworking the deal makes sense.

I've just stopped fretting about the cap issue.

Obviously, Dallas had it handled as a non-issue.

Now..the draft.

Let's see what happens.
