I like the youth movement we have going on here. I'm excited about Brandon Williams coming back off of injury next year along with Victor Butler.

I hate to stymie my talented young players' growth when I think we have a few good ones.

Right. We did very well without him, do not need him.

i think if spikes runs well at the combine/pro day he'll go a bit higher. maybe end of the 1st. i think he was negatively impacted by a groin injury and is now fully recovered.

in any case, we should get a very good player at 27. unfortunately, it may not be an OL at that spot - to the distress of many on this board . . . .

Spikes in the 1st

Ducasse in the 2nd

that would be a great start to the draft, imo.

why so many think the Daily Turd has anything to say that is worth listening to mystifies me.

Yeah Skill players aren't the reason we aren't superbowl champs right now and if we don't hit on some young prospects this offseason than its going to hurt us bigtime in the very near future.

That being said i'll take a talented Safety that makes plays.

As far as WR goes we are more than fine with what we have but i'll take a guy like Shipley or Ford who you can possibly get in the 3rd round and they can find a role in this offense.

We don't need starters @ WR. Just guys who can make plays with limited opportunities and bring something to our return game.

Exactly!!!!

I just dont get the idea by alot of fans that we have to have multiple probowlers at WR in order to win a ring. Look at the Colts, they have Reggie Wayne and a bunch of nobodys at WR. Who the hell ever heard of Collie or Garson before the year started???

With Miles Austin as our main guy, all we need is just some decent recevers that can catch on a regular basis and run decent routes. We dont have to have multiple probowlers at WR, no team does.

It wouldn't hurt to get some extra talented youth at MLB or OLB. Especially MLB.

When you run a 3-4 it never hurts to churn the bottom of the depth chart at those positions.

If McClain or Spikes falls in our laps than would anyone be upset if we pull the trigger?

McClain won't happen but if it came down to Spikes or one of the better O-linemen like Pouncey or Ducasse I'd be slightly irked to say the least...

NFL Network is saying that joey porter is suspected to be released among some of the cuts in free agency in march, so should we look at him or do you think the cowboys will?

Yeah, I know we have Spencer coming on, but you all saw how keith brooking helped our team, and last year, we all saw how we lost a step when Ware was hurt some. So, should we at least take a look at Joey Porter, remember now,the cowboys were reported very interested in joey porter when he was drafted by the steelers.

Your thoughts?

No, he's old.

Ok look at this below, I know he is old but look at brookings age and porter's. Remember what brooking did for us and porter is just as fiery as brooking etc.

Joseph Lorenzo Porter (born March 22, 1977 in Kansas City,

Keith Howard Brooking (born October 30, 1975 in Senoia, Georgia) is a linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. He played college football at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Brooking was a five-time Pro Bowl selection with the Falcons.

Now if we somehow can get Ducasse, Fox and Spikes in the first 3 rounds, then i say go that way especially with Spikes. But what if we dont, and remmember some people said the same thing about brooking he is washed up, one person that should know is Pasculli our coach that came from the dolphins, he should know if porter has anything left or not.

Too crowded a field for Porter, I don' think he's better than Carpenter and the upside of developing Butler and Brandon Williams and Jason Williams leaves him out in the cold; plus his attitude stinks.

The chances of us getting just one of those players is very very small. All three? Impossible.

Does Joey Porter kick field goals? Does he return punts? If not, then no thank you.

Maybe not, think about this;
Fox because of his injury may slide to top of 3rd round.
If we trade down from 1st round to top of 2nd round like with tampa bay for example we have a hiigh pick to take spikes, then we have our 2nd to take Ducasse, and tampa bays 3rd to take Fox. We might have to trade one of our lower round picks to package with one of the top 3 picks to do that, but we need impact players in this draft with players that can play right away.

If we didn't have Brooking then maybe. I would rather use his spot on a young guy with potential.

Spencer > Porter and Ware is the either the best, or second best LB in the league depending on where you rank Patrick Willis.

LOL.

DeMarcus Ware > Patrick Willis. Not that Patrick Willis isn't great, but you're putting a question mark next to DeMarcus Ware for best?

He doesn't pass protect or run block either, so definitely no.

Did that so I don't get 500 quotes saying you don't know anything about football, your 16, go die your ruining your e-rep. :bang2: Gets annoying

But I agree DeMarcus Ware is the best LB in the NFL by a mile, the best Defensive player and arguably the best player in the NFL period.
