Cowboys could easily be 4-0 headed to SF on SNF

If the defense plays like it did against the Giants, who can beat them? I'm really liking the defense, and I think the offense will be fine as long as #4 stays in his lane.
You really think we are going to get all that production from our defense week in and week out? Sure, if we did that every week, we would go 17-0 and an easy Super Bowl win. People need to tap the brakes on the defense. I loved what they did but these kind of games happen every now and then. We had one last year against Minnesota. Every single thing went wrong for them and every thing went right for us. Believe something similar happened when we played the Colts where we exploded in the 4th qtr.

It was a huge downpour against NY. That is always going to benefit the defense. Even our offense looked very meh. Obviously not as bad at the Giants but it was nowhere where we need it to be going forward.

I want to see this defense in normal conditions where the opposing offense isn't hindered by a downpour.

You are setting yourself up for disappointment if you think our defense will play like that consistently. They will come back down to earth. Not to say they will suck but it's natural to happen. And never ever count wins in the future in this league. The margin of error is extremely low. I am sure the Bills thought they would sleepwalk to an easy win last night after Rodgers went down.

These next 3 games look like a very good possibility . With Rodgers out now I definitely like our chances at home.

Going to Arizona next week against one of the worst teams in NFL should be a blowout.

And then Patriots at home. They are probably like Jets at no more than a .500 team.
Never look ahead past the next game.

How about we look at going 2-0 first. Anything can happen. In fact, the Jets losing Rodgers may force them to run the ball more, throw a lot of screens and short passes and utilize the TEs more. These are all the things that take away the strength of the Cowboys defense.

Don't look now, but Greg is showing signs of giddy optimism. Maybe this thing is for real.

Even better, both teams could be undefeated heading into the matchup. You probably already have to wipe up the drool from the networks thinking about this game's ratings.

I'm all for positivity, but one thing about the NFL, it's week to week, especially for the boys. Take it one game at a time, we know this team can look unbelievable one week, lay an egg the next. Win on sunday, and ontot he next one. Injuires as you can see already play a huge role, that's why I don't like these types of posts

The Bengals looked past us week 2 last season, when we were in a similar situations as the Jets are now.

One game at a time.

That’s part of being a critic and sensing the situation. I’ve always maintained my optimistic outlook was derived from evidence which is based on recent history and trends.

Note I didn’t say we’d beat SF. That still needs to be proven before I can raise my expectations more.

Understood. And I agree. But as fans we can be more subjective drawing some connections looking ahead. I just don’t see any real threats until SF. But on any given Sunday always apply.

One game at a time. No matter what the record is, if we lose to San Fran again it will mean we will never win another game again here.

I’m focused on the jets currently. Will be harder than many think.
