Cowboys' current draft order - no. 14

Draft this guy at all costs Ashton Jeanty,RB-Boise St as out inept offense needs as much help as it can get.
90 million don't buy that much anymore I guess................. :muttley:

It doesn't really matter where we pick bc we don't target specific players. That's why we haven't traded up since Mo Claiborne in 2012.

Really need to lose out. I think we’d sneak back into the top 10-12 if we do.
They are playing too good to do that. Rico and Osa are playing for contracts and teams don't have an answer for a healthy Parsons. They could win any of the remaining games and they are better than Washington.

Winning the next 3 games is going to be tough. So we will probably draft 10-12. I don’t think we should complain to much.
That sounds about right. Exactly where they landed after 2020. That worked out. Wont be higher than 8 even if they lose out.

Think I said this yesterday but this draft doesn’t seem to have a great difference between 5-15.

Jeanty is a nice player but he is a final piece type…like Gibbs was for Detroit. I don’t think we are at that point and would probably be best served moving down a bit, but I think management thinks we are better than we are (per usual) and isn’t going to be able to resist taking a jersey seller.

So basically….to whoever is reading this…if you don’t want a RB in the 1st, don’t be rooting for losses. One will indeed make the other happen.

Exactly. I actually think it’s Hunter, Carter, and Jeanty as the top players and the rest you can place anywhere. All of my top 3 have warts as well. The Cowboys will be fine.

Winning is more important than draft position.

Winning must become a habit in order to sustain it. - Plasticman, December 15, 2024

I'm sure someone has said something similar, but it sounds profound, right?

.....Dont be jealous.

Half the roster and the coaching staff will be gone next year anyway.

We might as well trade down and get more picks get a 4th rounder with the trade that we gave up for mingo
Or trade up. They will have 4 - 5th round, and 2 - 6th round picks to do so.
I know they like to keep their drat picks most of the time. But with that many picks there, not everyone will make the team. Well they do have a tendency to keep them.
But Jerry still can't refuse doing something in these rounds, even if it makes no sense.

Only trade down to get an extra 2nd and 3rd. Jury still out on Mingo. Fans get butt hurt to quickly.

Dak can't win without a top running back.

why not??? Trade down get some extra picks, and HOPEFULLY we get a 4th that we're going to be missing? You want to go from the 3rd round to the 5th round?? I'd like to pick up a 4th round with whatever compensation we get
Trade down too much, you get a diluted draft. Cleveland tried this some time ago when they had some high picks from a trade. Kept trading down every round.
Yes they needed players, like Dallas will. But that does not always work out.
Quantity over quality never works.
