Cowboys' Dak Prescott 'Slim Reaper' Weight-Loss Truth Revealed By Insider

Going back 8 years to "prove" he can't read defenses was a choice lol
I mean I can go back to the Packers game in his “MVP” season where he was throwing right to defenders trying to force it up Lamb. Or when he ducked against Wentz to miss out on the playoffs and so on..

Oh, so you mean he had trouble reading defenses in specific games. Since there's no way any qb would be in "MVP" consideration if they couldn't read defenses in general.

Notice how there's never any quantifiable statistics that ever go with this oft repeated platitude.

Like:

I ran my fastest ever 100 yard dash at 11.5 seconds.
Or, I deadlifted 600lbs, which is 30lbs more that my previous maximum.
Or, I ran 15 miles at a six mile per hour pace without having to stop, longer than I had ever done before.

It's just: "I'm in the bEsT sHApE oF mY LIfe" and you'll just have to believe me.

"may be in the best shape of his life"

Best shape of his life as he continues to recover from hamstring injury.

Makes sense.
If I had a nickel for everytime an athlete said they are in the best shape of their life…
lmao...here comes "the best shape of his life" again. Maybe someday he will get it right. Pour some honey on him!
Yall can't be talking about when Dak said, "best shape in my life" that one time years ago and hasn't said it since? Can't be...

In this article the author Nathan Karseno said it, not Dak.

Dak Prescott may be in the best shape of his life as he continues to recover from last season's hamstring injury. But our Mike Fisher finds the truth behind the weight-loss rumors.

FRISCO - The injury recovery for Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott continues to move in the right direction as we near training camp.

After suffering a torn hamstring in Week 8 of the 2024 season, the former All-Pro QB has taken his rehab very seriously.

But an internet troll has spread the word that Dak has lost 30 pounds. And now a teammate is piggybacking on that with an obvious joke ... that Dak's has lost weight to the tune of losing 50 pounds.

His recovery from his hamstring-torn-off-the-bone injury is crucial as he enters Year 10 with the Cowboys. He is 31 years old and won't be getting any younger ... so his health and fitness is key.

And he's getting healthy. And he's already fit. "Fit'' at 226 ... pretty much like always.

I remember reading this about Zeke every season only to watch him run slower than the years before.

In Dak's case, I don't know that this matters unless it helps him avoid the pass rush better, or maybe run for some first downs. To me, Dak's problems have been in his head, not with his body.

When he plays smarter he is a good QB. When he plays dumb or panicked, he is an awful QB.

For $60 million this guy should be in the best shape of his life every day of every season he plays, and even then he is not worth his contract.

if i had my way, which I'm aware I dont, the next headline about Dak id care to see would be:

nfc championship game
on the road
facing a top 5 defense
down 5
with 90 seconds left
no timeouts
and he needs to drive the team 75 yards to punch it in the end zone
and he actually does it.
The haters would say that the score shouldn't have been that close and your buddy, Kumba-Coogi-Ya, would be asking for our thoughts every 10 seconds

He’s great everywhere , off season , regular season etc , well except playoffs there he sucks beyond belief.

Wish he would actually work on the mental side of his game. But too late for that. He is what he is.
One of those comments that has zero basis in reality. Of course he works hard on his mental game. My guess is that every starting QB in the league does. Yes, he ‘is what he is’, a top 10 QB in the NFL. EVEN IF HE WASN’T TOP 10, he’d be one of the 32 best QBs on planet earth.

It seems to elude some people how much talent it takes to start at QB for any NFL team. Yeah, I’d probably rather have Patrick, Lamar, and maybe 3-4 other guys, but those 3-4 others would be very close to Dak.

Another weird thing about football fans in general, but in particular here, is that they seem to completely forget that it takes 11 dudes on offense to win, not just a great QB. Must have an RB. We don’t. Must have more than one stud receiver (TE or WR) starting. We don’t. Must have a decent o-line. We certainly didn’t last year, but they’re getting better.

We’ve seen Dak go 13-3 with a great o-line, a strong RB, and decent receivers, and that was as a rookie. He’s magnitudes better now. Give him the tools and he’ll succeed. He’s actually been winning without those tools, but imagine if he had them.

What also seems to elude people is when the QB makes $50,55,60 million a year that teams starts LOSING talent. We're seeing teams dump players around the league due to pricey contracts. You can't always add "tools" to your offense when the QB takes a quarter of the teams cap.

he wasn't in any way in "MVP consideration" in reality, because Lamar won 49 out of the 50 first place votes. Josh Allen got the other 1st place vote. Dak was actually a laughingstock until the bye after getting whalloped once again by the 49ers. He started getting pity points from the media after even former NFL analysts were calling him trash on live TV and he closed the season in mediocrity after the coaching staff had to revamp the offense, only to have the absolute worst game in his career against the Packers, to continue on the next season sucking it up until he got injured.

Dak Prescott didn't even get ONE first place vote and the NFL only started voting "cumulative" in like 2021. Christian McCaffery was third.

So yeah, there is a way a QB that can't read defenses can end up in the MVP voting even though he wasn't close to winning.

MVP voting/placement doesn't work that way... no matter how much you want it to.

Just in case the link doesn't work...

AP NFL MVP voting:
1. Lamar Jackson 49-0-1-0-0 = 493
2. Dak Prescott 0-17-13-11-6 = 152
3. Christian McCaffrey 0-17-12-11-4 = 147
4. Brock Purdy 0-9-5-12-13 = 97
5. Josh Allen 1-5-11-3-6 = 80
6. Tyreek Hill 0-2-6-9-14 = 60
7. Patrick Mahomes 0-0-2-2-2 = 12
8. C.J. Stroud 0-0-0-0-4 = 4
9. Matthew Stafford 0-0-0-2-0 = 4
10. Myles Garrett 0-0-0-0-1 = 1

*1st place: 10 points
2nd place: 5
3rd: 3
4th: 2
5th: 1
