He prefers the mammoth, 2gap type+1
Wonder if Quinn believes the big body mammoth in the middle ...or is he one of those movement quick twitch type ?

Did Garrett get a pass from those on this board when the offense wasn’t up to par? You’re the HC. You’re in charge of everything. Quinn called plays at times while he was HC
Bradley has been a DC since getting fired as HC also and has been fired from that as well. Where’d Richard coach this year?
Kind of an answer without an answer. Nolan was an unmitigated disaster this year. When teams are running it down your throat and you don’t bring in a third linebacker to stop the bleeding, that really doesn’t have anything to do with personnel or Covid. Even when they supposedly got better during their winning streak, it really was only the turnovers that hid how they were having teams go up and down the field on them with a backup quarterback (e.g., San Francisco). I am not sure what else would have convinced you. You will see that Quinn will be a huge upgrade.Give him a full normal offseason and I’d be willing to see the results. I’m a fan of his theory of multiplicity and attacking. I’ve seen what Quinn and his other Seattle DCs have become the last 5 years. They were all out of jobs.
Wade had attacking and competent defenses his first 3 years here regardless of the W-L record. That's like grading a Wade Phillips or Norv Turner as HC's .. when it's clear they are better off as coordinators than they are as HCs'
and hell, how many coordinator like coaches, much less HCs even get a chance to get to a Superbowl as Quinn did in ATL vs NE Pats ....
Richard has said he wants to coach as as DC ,..not a secondary coach again. He's received offers (including here under Nolan) as a DB coach but
he wants to be in charge of an entire

Opinion: Ex-NFL coordinator Kris Richard makes statement on league hiring practices, bets on himself instead
He will end up the secondary coach.LOL @ Joe Whitt Jr.
What a loser.

I’m not but I’m saying holding teams to 20 points doesn’t mean we’ll make the playoffs as the poster I quoted said would happen. Can't blame that part on the defense. We lost three of those games where we allowed 17 or fewer. It seemed like every time the defense was good, the offense was bad. Overall, we finished 11th in the league with an average of 20.1 per game allowed.
Every once in a great while I’ll say something serious...Probably turned down the Eagles head coaching job for this.
It would be tough to beat. We were 1st in overall yards, 1st in yards per game and 6th in total points and points per game.I dont think the offense was as good then. Kellen is getting better. They added Lamb. Schultz is a real weapon. There's no reason this team shouldn't average 20+. So, in the event they hold teams to less than 20, that's a playoffs team imo.
Lol, maybe? I’ve bet the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl for the past few years.Did you just go full Risen?

I agree, I think our offense can be better with Lamb but there were also other factors, such as the teams in our division. For example, the Giants had the 2nd worst defense in the league last year (I think) whereas this year they were top 15. Washington’s defense will only be better as well. We’ve had two of the easiest strengths of schedule for the past two years. I also think zeke is slowing down, with or without a top 10 O line. All of those play a factor.
Amen. Hard to think they’ll be able to get a stud DT, LB, CB and S all in one offseason. Quinn’s scheme doesn’t work in a salary cap league unless you’ve amassed multiple top 10 picks like Washington or SF did and Jax did the year they were in the AFC Champ or gotten insanely lucky like Seattle did with 5th rounders turning into pro bowlersDo Cowboys have personnel to run Quinn's defense?
Ted Nguyen, NFL film analyst: The Cowboys defenders reportedly complained that Nolan's defense was too complicated, but it feels like the pendulum swung too far in the other direction with the Quinn hire. He runs the old Seattle Cover-3 scheme. Simple, but you have to have blue chip players at every level to make it work. Quinn hasn't coordinated a good defense since the Legion of Boom.
Well said indeed Sir Think back when Jimmy Johnson came to the Cowboys in 1989 he brought in his DC from Miamith Dave W and he was great and Dallas won a Super Bowl with Dave W then Dave W went to the Bears as head coach and got fired. Some great DC just are not cut out to be HC....we should hope DQ gets back to being the DC like in Seattle. That will be his only focus.
