Cowboys did make offer for Sheldon Richardson

1m for this year
8m for next year
Franchise in 2019

for a 2nd I would do it in a heartbeat.....talent like that is worth it...he can play SDE, 3T
and 1T

if he does leave we get a high comp pick back for him........safe investment.....it is like trading a 2017 second for a top 5 pick in his prime for cheap money and then getting a 3rd pick in the future

rather keep developing the guys we have, draft another if needed and use the money on Martin instead.

I thought it was the other way around. The Jets tried to shuffle Richardson off to the Cowboys. The Cowboys likely counter offered that was rejected.

Richardson fell off the productivity bus this year I believe and is due an $8M option year next season. Guess the Jets don't think he is worth it after his crap heap he is throwing up this year.

Rolando McClain, Randy Gregory and some antacids.

I keep reading the thread title as "Cowboys did make off with Sheldon Richardson," and imagining Jerry and Ginger flying to New York, drugging him and bringing him back to Dallas. Jerry had to get Garrett to stop clapping long enough to load Richardson into the private jet.

Fans make me laugh.

Richardson is a top shelf young starting lineman. If we got this same player in the 1st or 2nd round of next year's draft they'd be writing love letters to Will McClay.

But today. After we didn't make this trade. It's "Glad we didn't give up a 1st or 2nd."

Yeah. That would have sucked.

In all fairness, the fact that he has been suspended twice, may factor in. If not, the Jets would not be interested in dealing him for less than a first, if at all

Exactly right.

Richardson is very talented but two suspensions (already) is a big problem.

That's neither a correct talent evaluation...nor is it how trades work in the NFL.

Really!? However, some 'real GM' gave up a 1st and a 4th for Sam Bradford. And that 1st is trending to be a pretty high pick based on the last two games.

I think you overvalue Sheldon Richardson. He has 8 games left as a Jet. And it's not like Richardson is tearing it up right now playing with one of the best supporting casts on the DL.

That wasn't my point at all.

1. Mid-season trades are only going to be made by using the currency of draft picks.

2. You did what fans so often do...package a few third stringers together...and think some other team is going to find value or have interest.

Yeah I don't get that either. Let's trade a 2nd for a bona-fide player, or take a 2nd round gamble on one that we suck at picking!

I am just glad somebody figured out the D Line could use upgrading.

Acknowledgement without action is meaningless. The trade deadline is over and we did nothing. Silver lining hopefully we do something in the off-season.

Right you are Mr. Risen. Tapper, collins, russell ect are all 3rd-4th rd picks o believe and richardson is light years ahead of all of them in productivity and in talent

Just a guess.. They probably wanted a 2nd or 3rd and we probably offered a 4th or 5th.

We traded a 5th round pick for Matt Cassel, I think it's safe to say we offered better than a 4th or 5th.

If we offered a 4th or 5th, then so did about 20 other NFL teams.

But do we need him when we have too many candidates at 3T already? I mean Crawford, Collins, Irving aren't going to answer your problems at End, so where would they go?

If only Greg Hardy wasn't such an idiot we'd be sitting pretty on the D-line right now

As usual I disagree with your opinion. Thanks for sharing though
