I think they just don't want to sit through that round in the draft and not have a pick. If the trade was made when we were on the clock people would love it. He's a beast. Worthy of a high pick. Especially considering it looks like we're going to be picking in the bottom half of those rounds.

Right he would make our DL some what feared the moment the trade was accepted. I don't usually agree with you but here you are 100 percent correct

Looking at some of the issues Richardson had glad we didn't make the trade. He was suspended four games in 2015 for failing multiple marijuana tests and he was suspended one game this season because of a high-speed police chase arrest.

or he never ever plays a snap in the NFL. I don't know what it is with Jerry & LBs with destroyed knees in the 2nd round, but Lee is the only one that has worked out, & that's only because he's been healthy the last 2 years.

Second round picks only give you 4 years of less than primetime
Three years of Richardson in his prime is more than worth it

Richardson is no choir boy. He has been suspended for drugs before, meaning he's 1 failed test away from a 10 game suspension. He also had another incident where he was driving over 140 mph trying to evade police. When he did pull over he had a loaded gun and the care reeked of marijuana. There was also a 12 year old in the car with him. Ignoring all of that we would basically be renting him for a year and a half until he hits free agency with no guarantee we can resign him. He also plays DE in a 3-4 not 4-3 which can be a tough switch for some players. I would rather use a 2nd round pick on a player that we control the rights to for the next 4-5 years.
