I thought Jethro promised he’d draft one. I was thinking it might be a mid to late round pick .

Even in 6th round Duggan from TCU was sitting there who didn’t end up going until 7th round I think .

Anyway, wonder why we didn’t live up to his claim on this?

I was hoping that we would take one but wasn't expecting it. There are was a group of guys that could be solid backups that all went around the same time, would have loved to get either, Haener, Tune, O'Connell, or Thompson-Robinson.

I dont think he ever said were drafting a QB
  • On Thursday, Jerry Jones said the Dallas Cowboys are committed to drafting a quarterback this offseason, sending the first warning shot to Dak Prescott. Now, Jones has doubled down on his comments and revealed which quarterback prospect impressed him the most in the Senior Bowl: TCU’s Max Duggan.

Yes he did. Jones first mentioned it three months ago - February 1st - at the Senior Bowl practices.
Yep… here’s the link..

Jones' usual spewing...his twice monthly empty declarations -"this will get done" and "that will happen".
Way past time to ignore the owner/gm when he opens his mouth.

Unfortunately he is the face and voice of Dallas Cowboys Football so as painful as it is we must continue following him while holding him as accountable as possible .

Just a reminder as mentioning QB could attract Dak trolls. This wasn’t intended to be a thread bashing Prescott but rather one bashing or holding our owner and GM accountable.

Tune, Thompson-Robinson, and Duggan were the three QB prospects most often mentioned as a fit\choice for Dallas post-combine, leading up to the draft.

was there a qb in this draft after the top 2 or 3 that would give Dak a run for his money? No not really. We could have brought in someone that make fans feel better, but wasting the pick tbh

What if the reason they didn't draft a qb is bc they didn't see any value and saw better value at the other picks...we have our starter and backup plus a developmental player so there had to be someone there that would have unseated either of the 2 or 3s.

I wouldn't have been mad if they grabbed someone like hooker in the 2nd round but they didn't need to. Also in the 4th there was a run on qbs right before them so they might have missed on the guy they wanted too...will never know

It could have been a future backup. We don’t expect Rush to stay here forever.

And with the likelihood Prescotts injuries will continue , you never know.

Jerry’s comments not coming to fruition suggest that he isn’t running things.

Sure he has veto power over everyone, but isn’t calling the shots, nor is he not listening to others.

He did say that and I am disappointed we didn't get one. They went earlier than the Cowboys expected and I think that is why we didn't.

I get there are players you like on day 3, but at some point you have to draft one. Next year there will be better QB's in the draft. Fingers crossed we draft one.
