The Dallas Cowboys weren’t greeted with fanfare or praise when they made their selections in the 2022 NFL draft. From their first pick to their last, they raised eyebrows and drew the criticism of many fans, draftniks, and media members.

Dallas’ draft class stood as a stark contrast to the crowd-pleasing 2020 haul which they stumbled into bargain after bargain after leading off with CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs. And the steady 2021 draft class that added 11 players to the roster (one named Micah Parsons), all of whom are still with the team today.

As Jerry would say, suck on that all week, haters.

Smith, Williams, Ferguson, Bland, Clark. All ranked by PFF as legitimate starters in this league.
Not just guys who start a game, but guys who, barring injury to anyone, belong on the field as starters in the NFL.
All but Williams have 5 or more starts, while Williams has none, but PFF has him ranked as the 42nd edge rusher in the league, and higher than some of the other rookies. He's starting quality.

You take the good with the bad. The FO constantly ignore the NT position, and they dumped a WR1 without replacing him. The drafting is good because of McClay. I really like the upside of the last 2 drafts. One more good draft would be able to put this team into true contender status.
They replaced Cooper's money with Gallup and Schultz money. I call that a bad call. I can see the argument for letting Cooper go, but that's a money argument about not spending on the receiving corps. And then we did anyway. Just a much better team with Cooper instead of those 2.
But Lamb is a legitimate #1. And Hilton was a very nice no cost add to get us back some speed.
The ignoring of NT has spread to simply ignoring DTs. We did nothing but Ridgeway in the offseason. Then left him unprotected. Hankins is a plus when he's on the field, but he hasn't been there so much.
How did Gallimore get so bad? What happened to him?

I wasn’t a huge fan of the draft but it appears we might have a pretty good one.

I mean i guess but i dont rank the class that high. Bland was a great pick. Tyler smith is still not a nfl tackle. And they gave us credit for jalen tolbert LOL. Guy is a bust.

We have cap space for the future, to keep the guys who make us competitive, and the team, in tact.

What's not to like?

I hated the days when Jerry was opening his wallet for every Dick, Tom, and Harry FA.
Oh I don’t know. That little thing called winning a championship

Yes the cowboys are one of the best drafting teams. No argument there. But people are going to keep questioning their decisions until they make a deep playoff run. That’s just reality.

The FO’s job is to win and win playoff games. Not make it on writers lists of who had the best draft.

If they were just half as good in Free Agency as they are drafting, we be dominant every year!
So you're on the record lacking appreciation for the FO acquiring free agents, Hankins, Peters, Hilton, and Rhoads?

People will still **** on the GM and front office. Nothing we can do will please them.

Some folks are tired of praising draft report cards, Pro Bowlers, and Forbes values. Do something in the postseason.

I’m on the record saying everyone of those guys were on the street late in the season. I’ve always been on the record saying that Steven and Willy need to stop dumpster diving in the off season and start bringing in some tier 1 FA’s. I’ve never wanted them to kill the future, such as the Rams have done, but I would love for them to be more aggressive like the Chiefs or Bills.

Pretty soon, our 30 visits will start getting drafted faster than any other team's.

We have the talent to beat the Bucs.

If you aren't happy with the names mentioned as free-agent acquisitions then you'll always have something to complain about. You hurt your credibility when you can't at least give the front office the slightest little praise. Welcome to my ignore list.

What fans are begging for is to be like the Rams...

Those were all IN SEASON aquisitions man. Because they didnt prepare. The only reason Hilton was brought in is because they whiffed on Tolbert and did nothing to replace Cooper's production. They were arrogant. Peters was brought in when Smith went down which we all knew was going to happen except the FO apparently, Rhodes was brought in because of the injuries to CB and Hankins was a trade. Not FA. And was brought in because the FO lost Ridgeway to waivers because they didn't want to cut Hill and thought they could trade him.

I can do this all day. Anyone defending this FO and their approach to FA needs their head examined.

They have won ONLY THREE PLAYOFF GAMES IN 26 YEARS.

If that's not the responsibility of the GM, then whose problem is it that we rank with the Lions and Commanders over the last two and half decades in terms of playoff success?

Unfortunately winning the draft isn't translating into winning Super Bowls.

The lengths some of you will go to find a silver lining in a storm cloud is crazy.

Those were all moves made because they realized they messed up in the offseason. That's it. They had no depth along the OL so at the first injury they had to scramble. They went cheap at WR after they dumped Cooper and had to scramble to bring Hilton in after it was obvious they had a WR problem halfway through the season. People on this board knew they had WR issues in August but Jerry and Stephen were smart everyone said, trust them.

Hankins was brought in because they were getting mowed in the run game. Crazy though, how about sure up the DT in the offseason and not halfway through the year?

LOL.

It's not about giving them praise. Picking Parsons was great. Taking Williams in the second looks smart. The difference here is that you guys want to plant your lips on the Jones' *** and yet many of us take a rational approach. For all the *** kissing you want to do with how they draft, what exactly has it produced? They have three playoff wins in 25 years. They haven't sniffed a conference title game in 25 years. Over that stretch something like 27 other teams have played in at least one SB.

How anyone can sit there and suggest we need to heap praise on the Cowboys, especially for their drafts, when it's produced these pitiful results is hilarious.

You don't whiff on a rookie 3rd round pick from a small school who sat behind other vets drafted before him.

That would imply that your previous drafts were no good.

You can do what all day?

It's quite possible nobody whiffed here. Given Tolbert was from a small school, it's expected he'll take time..

The acquisitions they've made boded well for them, given their overall stratrgy, and kinda took the wind out of all the 2022 fans bellyaching.

You guys did this after week 1, and it isn't even over yet.
