I'm listening to talk about his running, but he's not going to be fast enough to be a good runner at the NFL level.

He had a good completion percent his final year.
The draft was near the bottom of the barrel.
He's usually reliable socially.
Whatever.

Meh. Waste of a pick when we have other needs. As long as the pick doesn't prevent us from going out and truly making the effort to get a real QB prospect in the next few drafts who actually have the potential to replace Romo as a franchise or at the very least above average starter.

Board: WHY WONT JERRY EVER DRAFT QBs TO DEVELOP???
*drafts developmental QB*
Board: WHY ARE WE WASTING PICKS ON QBS THAT WON'T START??

Why do people use these type of example? It's not like it's the same people that say both things. You guys act like this board or all fans are of one mind.
History shows that you're probably not going to find a top flight starting qb in the 4th round.

What about this guy do people not like? I'm convinced most of these doubters have never actually seen him play. He's the best QB that didn't go in the 1st round.

Dak is a long term backup.

He will have to kill the preseason to keep them from looking hard at QBs in 2017

All offseason people are whining that we need to address the backup qb spot.

We do that.

And people cry.

All the complaints about McChickenlegs and "used up slow Morris", and we get a bellcow, blocking back, and complaints. Can't win man.

Towards the end of the 4th.

Has all the tools.

Cannot complain at all with what this team has done with their last 3 picks.

If you squint and pretend the Cowboys took Smith 4th and Zeke at 34 the draft makes sense.

I'm starting to warm up to this draft. Just wish we had a different 2nd round pick.

Might be able to buy us some time before drafting Romo's heir apparent. By the time Romo retires, Dak could be an average QB in the NFL. He can man the helm for a year while we groom a rookie. Not sure if I saw him being the face of the franchise for 10+ years though.

If he has the intangibles that people say he has, I will be interested to see how he fits in at Dallas and how he learns under Romo.
