Okay, so if Romo misses some playing time, he goes in?

Drafting a guy in the 4th round means we have a developmental quarterback but not a backup capable of stepping in.

So now the world knows the Cowboys are in the market for a veteran backup.

All the complaints about McChickenlegs and "used up slow Morris", and we get a bellcow, blocking back, and complaints. Can't win man.

I'm a fan of the player in Zeke.

Not a fan with spending the 4th on him.

It's over though.

He played well with good protection. He won't have protection issues behind this line. I hope he blossoms into a great QB for us

Okay his floor seems to be that of a career backup, his ceiling is that of a quality starter... and people are complaining?
You seem to have Dak Prescott confused with Jared Goff and Carson Wentz.

People are complaining because career backup is the ceiling. The floor is not in the league in 2 years.

Don't know if he can play at a starter level. Not even sure if he is an NFL QB. I wouldn't mind taking a developmental QB but Prescott is just not any good.

You can say that about a lot of players, regardless of position, picked at this point in the draft.

Don't like the pick.

He will be a back up.

Glad they didn't spend a second on him.

what exactly has wentz done? Played in college against inferior competition and didn't even look better than Dak in the senior bowl. You'd rather have Goff or Wentz sans the rest of our draft or our first next year vs burning a late 4th on Dak?

Don't see him as an NFL QB at all. He's Tim Tebow-lite to me.

But in the 4th Round, I don't really care. He'll be a fine 3rd stringer. Welcome to the club.

He's the 3rd QB drafted in Jerry Jones era I believe. That's why people are screaming for a QB.

Counting Aikman he's the fourth. Jerry drafted Bill Musgrave, Stephen McGee and now Prescott.

The upside is undeniable. His step back last year was more a product of what was (or in his case wasn't) around him, I don't know that another QB in the country took more big hits. He's not ready to play right out of the box, but he could develop into a very good backup one day.

?????? You think this current staff groomed Romo?

Romo was pretty raw when Garrett took over. Sure, he proved capable in those 10 or so games with Parcells but he was a poor man's Brett Favre. He took too many risks and threw too many interceptions, he was also not very mature mentally. Over the years, he has developed into the QB he is today. I won't credit all of it on the coaching staff, Romo is pretty bright himself but I am sure Garrett's close relationship with Romo has been a positive influence.
