Cowboys draft needs?

This is the problem with Cowboy fans and unfortunately the Cowboys organization. Prisoners of the moment. You can't let one game, especially one against a very bad Giants defense with nothing to play for, overrule a years worth of below average play.

You can't book it as a 100% certainty. Upgrade. Especially since we like to use 12 and 13 personnel so much.

Jarwin is only in his second year and didn't play but in one game in 2017, he's not had "years of below average play". And as far as your bolded statement, you ignored my "One game doesn't a solid TE make", I didn't say it was a 100% certainty.

And Schultz is a rookie.

Let's see what they can do before we start spending valuable resources on yet another tight end, much more urgent needs that a 4th tight end....

Really? 1.5 sacks 34 total tackles. Aaron Donald had 20.5 sacks and 59 tackles. Some other DTs of note:
Deforest Buckner - 67 and 12
Fletcher Cox - 47 and 10.5
Jarren Reed - 50 and 10.5
Geno Atkins - 45 and 10.

There are many more.
Don't expect to have a Donald, but Woods is not as good as the Cowboys need.

Woods is a 1tech, Donald is a 3 tech, Buckner a 5tech

Don't see much way the Cowboys can address 5-6 need areas, with any real chance of getting a good player. No first round pick, signing Lawrence will suck up a lot of cap space, and there's also Beasley, Austin, Fleming (there's your o-line depth, if you want him), R. Smith, Swaim, Ross & D. Jones. Some of those guys will have to be re-signed, this team has a good core, releasing tons of players who know the system and re-building those spots is not a good idea.

I feel the Cowboys can address really two spots in the draft with reasonable expectations of getting a quality rookie, and maybe a really good free agent in one other spot. After that, it's a crap shoot as to getting guys who are better than you have now, and I'd not risk it...

Beasley is an interesting case. We could use Austin in Beasleys spot and save some cap. We will need to add a receiver at some point. I think any receiver we get will be out of the draft, but Cedrick Wilson may factor into that formula too.

I want more dynamic than Beasley.

What do you guys see the draft needs going into the 2019 draft after week 16? Who will we be losing in free agency?

I say go BPA all the way. Let it sort itself out.

In no particular order:

OT help
DT
Slot receiver
Backup RB
Third linebacker--- Wilson/Lee gone
Corner depth
Backup QB?

Let's hear your thoughts?

Pro Football Focus ranks The Tight End as the biggest position of need. Says the tes were targeted 80 times and had virtually Nothing to show for it. Lmao

Now if we can get rid of these sorry coaches that played them every snap.. Lol .

Ty pff for enlightening us that this is a pathetic coaching staff for playing them every single passing snap against our will to watch.

This is the Sorriest offense the Dallas Cowboys have ever had since I can remember. We have the league's leading rusher and it's still at the bottom in total offense. Its an offensive league so changes are desperately needed. Starting with the everydown te position we created .

Our tes are the Glue that holds this team back. Thank God pro footbatf focus is not bias like the Koolaid drinking Witten Fans who thinks theirs something good about our everydown te position and this coaching staff.

Te has been the biggest position of need for 5+ years. But these ignorant coaches keep forcing us to watch a subpar te core. It's time that somebody stands up to this coaching staff about the everyydown te popition. Ain't nobody in this forum has the caholes to speak up is the problem. Yall just continue to spend all your time and money watching the everydown te imposters instead of playmakers.

Talking like The Ghost of #82's prime is gonna show up one of these years . The everydown te hasn't made an appearance in 5 + years but the Everydown Te position won't die.

It's a curse. A million dollars says this sorry coaching staff will field an everydown te scheme led by bottom barrel tes again next year. Thanks # 82 for creating a LOSING LEGACY

TE or DT.

I'd move up to get a good one, with a 4th since we have two.

TEs that can play are valuable, especially with how frequent S11 is run. 3 WR, 1 RB, 1 TE.

If you can get a potential gamechanger and safety valve, that can actually block, you get him.

Also a DT needs no explanation. If someone legit falls, get him.

Well said. It juts burns me completely out watching us go 3 tight ends on the goal line and allowingbthe opposing team to put 11 men in the box.

Jerry will sign Swaim to an extension. He inked James Hanna and He only caught 1 TD pass in his career . Jerry likes playing tes that don't produce in black and white .Hanna started most every game and played almost every passing snap and didn't do anything on critical passing downs. Never!!!

You can't stick a scrub receiving te with losing stats out their and expect him to make critical plays when he hasn't made even 1 critical play as a receiver in his entire career. Lmao

We'll be watching a scrub te core again next year because we're used to it. They'll be dominating all the passing downs and still putting up zeros while our playmakers are not on the field .Lol.

It's time to get a GM or coach that's not gonna let scrub tes dominate passing downs until we get some tes that can make plays more consistently.

Jeff swaim was on every passing snap for 14 games and he has losing stats and one rinky dink touchdown all year and nobody has the caholes to speak up about the lack of production nor the lack of substitution.

When you consistently have a te core that is bottom barrel the next man up philosophy doesn't work. We've been watching a bottom barrel te core try to lead us to a Superbowl and their skilsets and stats as wrs are so inept that it puts to much pressure on our QB to have to beat them with the same 3 guys every week.

Any warm body can go out there and run routes and not make plays or score .Why does Swaim get a free pass to play all the passing snaps when he hasn't made an impact as a receiver on even one critical passing play????

Get some Caholes to speak up because the everydown te position is Dead and this coaching staff is beating a dead horse thinking our passing offense is ever gonna be playoff caliber with loser tes who can't make an impact
