My favorite numbers:

Carson Wentz
First-round pick
Trade cost the Eagles two first-round picks ('16 and '17), a second ('18), a third ('16), and a fourth ('16) overall.
Contract worth $26.7 million
He was basically their whole draft (didn't have a 2nd rounder).

Dak Prescott
4th-round compensatory pick for losing Jermey Parnell before last season
No trade
Contract worth $2.7 million
Cowboys also got Zeke Elliott, Maliek Collins, and Anthony Brown, with Jaylon Smith mending, from this draft.

Epic win.

I'm worried. The Cowboys are 3-3 vs. Philly in their last 6, with the home team losing each game. Also, in the last 6, Dallas has averaged
28.83 carries for only 96.83 yards (3.36 avg per carry) vs. Philly. That's not going to cut it this week.

In Dallas's 3 wins, it was the QB play and/or the defense that won the game.
- Last year in week2, the defense shut down Kelly's offense (highlighted by Lee's pick in the endzone) and then the QBs made just enough plays
- In 2014 at Philly, Romo and Dez abused Fletcher for easy TDs
- In 2013, wind, and a beat up Nick Foles lead to a 17-3 redemption for Monte Kiffen vs. Kelly (the talk all week had been how Kelly destroyed Kiffen's D while the two were at Ore/USC).

I can see the Dallas D stepping up and continuing their bend-but-don't-break play vs. Wentz, but I worry that if they can't run, they'll have trouble on offense (like vs. NYG). Could be a battle of Kickers and the team that makes the least amount of mistakes.

Ok, let's look at the last three in Dallas.

2013: Philly 24, Dallas 22 (KYLE ORTON AT QB)
2014: Philly 33, Dallas 10 (Romo on short week with bad back, Thanksgiving. Still went 12-4.)
2015: Philly 33, Dallas 27 (MATT CASSEL)

In the past five years, Romo is 5-1 against the Eagles. Dak will be fine.

They recouped their 2017 first round pick and the way things are looking now, there probably won't be a massive difference between where their pick would have been and where the Minnesota pick they will get will land.

Further, I understand they PAID a first round pick in 2016 but they got one back (the #2 pick) so it's basically a wash. They also had multiple 3rd round picks.

So while we clearly paid less for our QB, the Eagles didn't pay as much for theirs as people want to claim. If you net out picks, etc what they ended up "losing" to get Wentz was:

- 2nd round pick in 2016 (the one they gave up for Bradford)
- 2nd round pick in 2017
- 3rd in 2016
- 4th in 2016

That's not a high price to pay for a franchise QB. And note, depending on Minnesota does, they could get anywhere from a 2nd to a 4th round pick in this draft along with the 1st rounder.

But it's a massive price when your rival got a better one for next to nothing.

If they truly found their QB of the future, it's more than worth what they paid. It's dumb of Cleveland to turn down a chance to get Wentz.

But if we found ours on the cheap late in the draft, it's almost like Romo all over again.

I don't disagree with your summaries of the games in Dallas regarding the QB play. My point was that the running game vs. Philly the last 6 games hasn't been effective, and unless the defense and QB play very well, the Cowboys haven't beaten Philly. Your summaries prove my point. The QB play and the Defense were bad the last 3 at home, and the running game wasn't there to help. Hopefully this week, the bad running vs. Philly reverses the trend.

Darren McFadden ran for 127 yards vs Philly with Matt Cassell at QB.

We've only had one game where a back of ours has averaged over 4 YPC against the Eagles D the last few years.

I'd hold off on saying "Dak will be fine" without a dangerous running game.

With two awful quarterbacks, Dallas lost by 2 points and 6 points.

They can't stop this run game for four quarters. Wentz can't beat our secondary with short throws if the other games are any indication.

This game is on Dak. If he doesn't turn it over, the Cowboys win.

31-14.
