Everyone is curious if next week's game will be flexed. The only logical reason it wouldn't be flexed is if next week's Bears vs Packers game is for the division title. In my opinion, even if that game is, I still think the Dallas game will be flexed just because the media loves Dallas elimination games.

So, here's what we know. The Lions, Packers and Bears are all fighting for the NFC North.

Their records:
Bears 8-6-0
Packers 7-6-1
Lions 7-7-0

This week's games:
Lions vs Giants
Packers vs Steelers
Bears vs Eagles

Next week's games:
Lions vs Vikings
Bears vs Packers

Now, depending on what happens this week, there are a few possibilities. I used a logical truth table to calculate the possible scenarios. There are 8 possible scenarios for what can happen this week. Of these 8 scenarios, 4 of them would result in next week's Bears vs Packers game being for the division. That means there's a 50% chance.

The four scenarios that would make next week's game for the NFC North:
1) Lions, Packers and Bears ALL WIN this week
2) Lions, Packers and Bears ALL LOSE this week
3) Lions lose, Packers and Bears both win
4) Lions lose, Packers win, Bears lose

There are a few scenarios that would make next week's game NOT for the division. Let's take a look.

One scenario where the Bears win the division this week:
1) Lions lose, Packers lose, Bears win

One scenario that Packers are eliminated this week:
1) Lions win, Packers lose, Bears win

Two scenarios that all three teams are still alive next week:
1) Lions win, Packers win, Bears lose
2) Lions win, Packers lose, Bears lose

if it came down to Packers v Bears or Eagles v Cowboys, Cowboys will always get picked. We are the biggest draw in the NFL (i can't even imagine the numbers the Boys would pull of if they were at least a perennial playoff team) so we will get flexed and suffer another humiliating loss on national TV :(

I agree. I don't see us not getting flexed. But I was just curious about the scenarios.

don't count out Baltimore @ Cincy next week. If the Ravens can find a way to come back today, then they play for a home playoff game against cincy (who has clinched the playoffs)...I assume philly v Dallas on SNF, but it isn't a lock just yet

They're never gonna flex a game for home-field advantage over a game for a playoff spot. A game for a playoff spot is great for ratings because it's like an extra playoff game.

If Rodgers ends up starting for the Packers and it's for the Division, then the Bears/Packers game will be flexed.

Baltimore could be not only playing for the division, but also a playoff spot...I truly believe the Dallas game will be the last regular season game of the season, I was just saying there are 3 options depending on the rest of the late games

Last year's Cowboy's-Commanders SNF finale drew 30 million viewers, the highest rated game of the season.

I would be shocked if they pass up on doing that again with us and Philly.

I agree. But you also realize that the Packers and Bears have some of the biggest fan bases, and that Rodgers might be playing next week?

I do, but they are not going to wait on an injury report before making that decision. Plus nobody outdraws Dallas, and the amount of people that will tune in because they hate the Cowboys and want to watch another Romo choke job probably outnumbers the Packers and Bears fan bases :p.

I think that was different. Cowboys-Commanders probably has bigger appeal nationally and don't forget that Washington got on a hot streak with RGIII who was the biggest young star at the time. You couldn't read the sports section, listen to sports talk radio or watch any sports channel without the media proclaiming RGIII the next "Elite" QB That game was more about the Cowboys vs, RGIII than it was about the Cowboys vs. Commanders.

Bears-Packers feature not only two of the NFL oldest and popular franchises, but the oldest rivalry in the NFL. Then you include the fact that it would feature a League MVP and SuperBowl Champion Rodgers coming back to play his first game in 2 months to lead his team to the playoffs. I would lay odds that game would be flexed over the Cowboys-Eagles

Very good point. This is what I'm afraid of. But like others are saying, it depends on when the injury report comes out. If the Packers announce first thing tomorrow morning that Rodgers is playing, I don't see the Dallas game getting flexed. Very good point about RG3 last year. The Eagles aren't nearly as popular as the Commanders were last year. I rarely hear anything about the Eagles.

Anyone who thinks the packers bears would be flexed instead of us literally does not know anything about NFL TV ratings.
