Update: A Lions loss and Packers win eliminates the Lions and makes next week's game for the NFC North regardless of what happens tonight between Philly and Chicago.

At the moment: Giants 13, Lions 10... Packers 14, Steelers 16.

If they both lose, Chicago wins the division with a win tonight and next week's game is meaningless.

Very good point. This is what I'm afraid of. But like others are saying, it depends on when the injury report comes out. If the Packers announce first thing tomorrow morning that Rodgers is playing, I don't see the Dallas game getting flexed. Very good point about RG3 last year. The Eagles aren't nearly as popular as the Commanders were last year. I rarely hear anything about the Eagles.

That's exactly it. If it's the Matt Flynn led Packers then it probably won't get flexed, but if Rodgers gets the start, it's a totally different ball game. With Rodgers they become a legitimate Super Bowl threat, because even if their defense isn't all that good their offense is.

This is the reason that the game will be flexed.

Still think they go with the sure thing. I think you are reading far more into the football aspect of it than network executives who know the Cowboys consistently drive high prime time ratings no matter who the QB is. Guess we'll see.

You're right. I think any football fan would rather watch a Packers vs Bears game with both their starting QBs playing. Fortunately for us, lots of non-football fans love watching the Cowboys.

It's the Eagles that are bringing the appeal down. True the Cowboys are the big draw win or lose(the media loves train wrecks) but the executives and more importantly advertisers love Mr. Discount Double-Check and Pizza Hut pitchman, plus the media gets to villanize Cutler(another plus) Foles? Executives don't care what his stats are, Foles hasn't done any Subway commercials or had epic choke jobs or been caught on the sidelines berating his own lineman or really done anything interesting enough by comparison.

Thanks to a sketchy call, the Packers, just took the lead on the Steelers. So things just might get more interesting....

I disagree that anyone cares about villianizing Cutler or that the Bears have a significant ratings superiority over the Eagles. And with the rumors that Garrett could be canned for losing the game the drama level goes up.

Most importantly they have to make the decision sooner rather than later to get the logistics settled. They can't wait until what might be mid-week until Rodgers is cleared to play. If they buck the Cowboys game to the Packers and Matt Flynn winds up starting, someone is getting fired.

Again, we'll see. Wouldn't surprise me if you are right, I just think no exec ever lost for choosing to air a Dallas game.

I was actually wrong about one of the scenarios... The Lions just lost, so they're done. The Packers are losing to Pittsburgh and it looks like they'll probably lose this game. The Bears can wrap up the division with a win tonight. A loss would make next week's game about Green Bay a playoff game.

Packers lost......................so the Bears win the division with a win tonight........................would make next weeks game between Chicago and Green Bay meaningless..............so we will get flexed if Chicago wins tonight.

I just realized a 49ers loss Monday night to the Falcons would make next week's 49ers vs Cardinals game for the final Wildcard spot. It's crazy how the 49ers' scenarios look. They can possibly finish with the #1 seed in the NFC, and they can also miss the playoffs.

I don't know why anyone would think they would pick the lame Bears/Packers game over us. Both of those teams will be stumbling into that game with losses. And picking that over Dallas, which is the most popular team in the world? Lulz. Not a chance.

Yeah Packers/Bears may be one of the oldest rivalries but sorry, this isn't the 50s anymore.
