In the other thread, I was going to mention that I seem to remember him being offered 12M a year. But I wasn't sure if it was him, or Barkley. Schultz got caught up in his market value. Once he turned it down, that money probably went somewhere else. So he couldn't even backtrack.
Yes, 3 for 36 was what they offered him according to Archer before franchised last year.

The TE market is weird right now. I would draft two or three of them this year because the market will go crazy next year. This is the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a pressure valve.

Okay, that was kinda dumb. What I should have said was that I would stockpile a bunch of young, cheap TEs now because the value of that position is as low as it’s ever going to be.

Tough life. Gamble fails, and he only earns 20 million for 2 years in the NFL.
He could retire at 27 after one season in Houston and never work another day in his life, yet live better than most of us can dream about. Good for him!

He overvalued himself.

He is a solid TE, but he lacks big-play potential and is not the greatest of blockers. Most teams want an athletic TE that can stretch the field, that is not Schultz.

This is a TE draft, he just gambled and lost.
He is not the best TE in the NFL but he is closer to the top than the bottom and he did some great Red Zone damage last season

Shultz needed a better touchdown celebration to get the big money.

That's what he gets for getting greedy. Dumb and greedy. Had a 3 year/$36 million offer from the Cowboys but passed it up because he felt he deserved much more. Now, he's stuck with the lowly Houston Texans on a 1 year "up to a" $9 million deal? lol. So it's not even a guaranteed full $9 million? SMH

Good riddance.

Can't really know about a contract based on it's total gross.

Lot of these contracts are backloaded.

How do you people, root for a man to fail? Secretly root for a players demise, all because he went after what has to last he and his family for the rest of his life

I do not get the evil that lurks in the hearts of men. I really don't. So let me get this straight , Shultz is a POS because he wanted to get his money ? And people are to hate him now?

Because he wanted money that none of you have a damn thing to do with? REALLY ?
