Cowboys faced a HOF QB not ready to quit on the season

I like how Prescott took responsibility and blamed himself for everything.
Yes he did, one was simply a wr seeing something different and he was also open behind the safety, the other the TE did get bummed, it is what it is. A lot of folks had AR written off on this board unfortunately AR didn’t buy it. When you can run like GB did Sunday and have a elite QB even with sub par WRs there’s a good chance he will find a way to win, and that was the story line.

We knew our run defense was bad. It’s been bottom tier ranked all season. But fans get caught up in all of the hoops with defense overall cause of higher ranking and pass rush.

The NFL is ever adjusting, all throughout the season. Teams start to figure out what works and what doesn't. In the next two weeks, we're not going to see Cousins or Jones just drop back to pass all game. We're going to see them run run run, and play action on 3rd and 3.

Yep, of course we’d have to prove ourselves . Too many fans bought into they hype while others fired warning shots. Some fans have greater insight and instincts than others.

AR always gave us a hard time. He delivered once again. All those people who are fighting over who's fault is what totally ignore the elephant in the room: this team as a whole (Offense, Defense, Coaching, FO) cannot deliver when it's needed.

They should have been managing the game when once again they just thought a blazing guns offense will bring us victory. Instead of continuing what has worked with Cooper Rush they went back to the old "Dak is top 5" pretender offense. We don't have a top 5 QB, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Just don't play like it.

At first the Defense provided and the offense wasted. Then the offense woke up and the defense couldn't keep it up.

Just a horrible horrible unbalanced team. And once again wins against weaker teams camouflage this fact. 2021, 2018, 2016... all over again.

______

With that being said, if they can win against the Vikings on fire then they're still legit imo. So next week will show what this season has left for us. Until then I'll stay relaxed and take this loss as what it is: one more butt rap**g by AR. Cudos to him.

Lol, Prescott had better numbers. But I bet you think he suck

Virtually identical. So you can’t say one sucked and the other one didn’t.

Dak 58.7%, 3 TD, 2 Int, 78 qbr

AR12 70%, 3 td, 0 int, 146 qbr

Oh yeah, I see what you're saying, these are virtually identical.

Except no.

Yea, this game went pretty much as expected for me. The next couple games will be tough as well.

If in training camp you could travel 5 months into the future and see that Dallas ends with 10-12 wins, you’d say this would probably be one of the games they lost. Philly would be one, TB would be one. Nothing has happened outside of the expected results. On the one hand losing a close game hurts; on the other, they could just have easily won. This wasn’t a loss like Philly or TB where you needed to pray for multiple scoring drives and onside kicks at the end to have a chance. It was a close game that Dallas maybe wins if they meet again.

And GB isn’t some awful 3-6 team that Dallas lost to. We now know they’ve had one of the NFL’s most brutal schedules up to this point. They lost to 6-3 Buffalo, 8-1 Minnesota, 6-3 NYJ, 7-2 NYG. They beat the Bucs teams you lost to, they beat 5-4 NE, and now they beat 6-3 Dallas. They have had an insane schedule, They’re much better than their record indicates.

Not a bad loss for DAL, we’ll avenge you.

GB faced an average QB who was wildly inconsistent throughout the game.

Didn't take long for us to get back to throwing it 40+ times a game, did it? Even in a game we were running for 5 ypc.

Wonder whose choice it was on the last drive, on 3rd and 3, knowing we'd go for it on 4th down, to throw the ball on back to back plays? Wonder if that's why MM was throwing the headset...

Have to hand it to Dak, he managed to stick to the winning formula for 2 games before getting back to hero ball.
I’d have to guess it was Moores decision to throw it in those situations .

Yep .. well done !

Int's aside, he was all over the map on his throws, especially in the 1st half. He did put together some nice drives and had a few beautiful throws, I'll give him that, but he was not good yesterday overall.
But that’s who Dak has been. He going giveth and he takes away.

2 interceptions were costly but I wouldn’t totally place blame on him. He made much worse throws than those 2 which appeared receiver ran wrong route.

My bigger concerns is our rushing defense . And why we get away from running the ball when we are having success.

But If fans are looking for this QB to bail us out like Rodgers does they are mistaken. He’s enough to build around but not totally carry us.

Are you 100% sure of that given Dak has been known to audible out of run plays to pass plays?
We don’t have to be sure. No way either of us can be certain.

Moore is ultimately the OC. If there are audibles we have no clue. Without more definite knowledge that’s all we can assume .

And remember audibles are also planned or drawn up by OC or HC. All we can do is hold the execution of such more accountable.

Rodgers sure looked like he had plenty of time to pass all day. For a team that is known for putting the pressure on quarterbacks, I wasn’t seeing much of it……of course we all know the Packers Oline was holding like hell so that didn’t help matters either.

We have been putting big time pressure on teams when they pass and that didn't happen yesterday. I think once we got run on, then we got some of our bigger DT's in there and they aren't pass rushers. Green Bay had a great game plan on offense for sure. Run it down our throats and once we bring our safety's up to stop the run then throw it deep. Our back up corners were god awful yesterday. No ability to find the ball in the air and not enough speed to catch up once a guy got on top of you. First time this year Dan Q's defense really laid and egg.

Against Chicago he opened up the playbook had some roll outs and got Dak out of the pocket from time to time yesterday he seemed to regress and just left Dak standing back there which as we've seen, hes not a pocket guy.

For crying out loud lest we forget he had 2 balls dropped by defenders in Detroit otherwise the guy would have 6 pics in 4 games. As I've said I don't think we have a quarterback on the roster quite capable of winning a playoff game
However I'm pretty sure rush would have won that game yesterday because Dak had NO PRESSURE yesterday yet looked clueless.
Next week will be a real blast

Many fans had already written off Rodgers and the Pack but we should know better. Some of us do.

I wasn’t a bit surprised . Should never count out a heart of a champion. The fact they’d lost 5 in a row was no reason to count them out.

And I wouldn’t write off Cowboys season either. We knew these 3 games after bye were all lose-able.

I still think we can win 11-12 games and get 5th seed.
Playoffs?
First round exit, unfortunately

Dak watched as Cooper Rush played in a manner not beyond himself and go 4-1; then when Dak came back he watched the defense win the first game and the running game win the second game.....his ego would not allow for Dak not to 'show everyone' that he can win a game.....against GB...in Lambeau....2 INT's and 14 points later plus 3 failed offensive drives to end the game and in OT....and well, let the Dak excuses begin.

Dak definitely threw into heavy coverage on both interceptions. Three defensive guys in the coverage with an offensive player clearly behind them. On another pass, he got lucky it wasn't intercepted. Dak plays better when the offense is up tempo. I don't know why but things just seem to click for him when they do. I sincerely want the best for him, but I think he's a flash in the pan or a shooting star.

The truth is Dak can't carry a team. He is a good bus driver. He is who he is. The defense can't play the way they did either. There's plenty of blame to go around.
