Overall, I like the staff that has been put together. I don't know how much that was the front office's influence and how much of it is No-Schott. The only one I don't like on the surface of it is the special teams coach. He has worked with No-Schott before, so I think he is responsible for that one, but his only time spent as a special teams coach was a failure, so I don't know if it is just a buddy hire.Ok that's fair.....I was more so talking about the grading part but yeah as far as having a "change of heart"....I didn't like the hire but he interviews well. He's saying all the right things. Not that it means it was the right decision based on that but he at least knows how to interview.....shockingly...I don't think we've had that since Parcells....Wade, JG and Mike are the worst interviews EVER. I'm still pissed how they went about hiring a coach...shockingly, I love the staff the put together which is why i'm even willing to give him a shot. He at least has the sense to know what type of staff to build. Mike brought in Mike Nolan for some strange reason.
As far as players go, again, I don't know his level of involvement. Did he pick the players? Did McClay? Did the Joneses? The one thing I do know is whoever picked them was limited by the Joneses' free agent philosophy, which is you don't spend big on outside free agents. Ultimately, I believe that has been proven to be a failed philosophy and will bite us again. I don't necessarily have a problem with the players we brought in ... I don't blame them and hope for the best with them, and I don't blame the coaches and personnel men, either, because I think they did what they could with the mandate they were under. This problem goes back to 2012. (Before that, the Joneses devalued the draft, but Parcells changed that.)
