Cowboys fans feel confident about returning to the playoffs

We achieved 7 wins from a season that was sabotaged by Jerry, with a lame-duck coach, a backup QB who actually outplayed the starter, and 50-60% starters who are no longer on the team. So IIMO corrections and resetting these issues alone are worth 3-4 wins. In other words, IF we avoid major injuries ( margin is razor-thin), I am very confident about our playoff chances. Keep in mind, as a rule 10-11 wins gets you in.

Why shouldn’t we feel confident about making the playoffs ?

Barring any major injury this team will have a playoff spot locked up before week 16

And they’ll go in the playoffs and stink up the joint like they ALWAYS do

A 30 year calendar doesn't carte blanche cover that part each year.

 That wasn't misspelled by myself. Tell us about the WR's and DE's.....if you can. :lmao:
One WR is reserved and shows His displeasure with Mr. Almost MVP in quiet protests The other WR is not so nice. . . grab your popcorn

As far as DE they have a bunch of athletic undersized studs who get pushed around in run defense. Hopefully the rookie can step in right away

What you complain about in George Pickens has to be seen whether it is a problem in Dallas. Paired with CD Lamb the group presents a strong group. Value will need to be proven out through the year. Value and pay further due has to be weighed out in the team's performance. Right now, this WR group can go up with any talent group.

The DE group and with current Coaches, this fan feels they can go up against any pressure group. Injured players need to return, as the linebackers will greatly affect the run and pass defense. Defensive tackle can affect game changes, but so can the present defensive scheme group.

We'll see from here...

I'm a diehard fan since 1962. That said, I can't figure how anyone can forecast a 14-3 season BEFORE camp.

Contact the author of the FO and find out, then....it doesn't bother this fan or my following at all. That burden then is yours, not mine.

None of that issue keeps this group of Cowboys from being good or have to declare why that can be.

Watch and see ...

Prescott played most of 7 years and had winning seasons in 5 of them.

Prescott had playoffs in 3 straight and MVP runner up in 2023 by league vote. He also was leading rookie QB in 2016.
Not that it matters, but I was actually thinking of Dak when I wrote that.

Key question becomes even if Dak plays exceptional, we still have 10 other guys on the field playing plus coaches making the play calls.

In the last 28 years or so, every cowboys fan had been there before when we look like we're going to do it, and yet for some reason we don't. I don't consider myself negative if I don't bet but if I were to bet, I wouldn't bet "serious" money on the cowboys to take it all.

But hey, to Rockport or whatever his name is, because I can't figure out what Jerry did different this year vs the last 20 years I'm not a "real fan", how many "real fans" feel the same way I do?

Don't get me wrong, hope (when it comes to praying I figure God has more important things to do than a sports game) I am wrong.

Because it keeps the internet going.

It's all about clicks and what keeps the needle moving now online is my guess (if a "social influencer" dies unexpectedly, I don't really give a rats butt LOL) .

The issue is you and I are a dying breed. I wasn't a diehard fan (as I've gotten older I spend no money on sports because it's not worth my investment IMO) since the mid 70's, so you've got to be older than me ;) Now a days, kids under the age of 10 get smart phones.

Heck, look at what the browns must be doing online with the fire dumpsters (yet newsworthy) QB's they have this preseason.

My dad was born in 1931 and passed away in 2023. I had to help him on the internet when he came to live with us, as for the most part he wanted nothing to do with it even in his 80's. That's what I mean about "dying breed".

Retain your elements to remain a fan and enjoy the Cowboys. :starspin:

Oh, I enjoy watching them play for most of the season, I've just learned over the last 30 years or so not to get my hopes up too high.

Would you rather suffer a decade of losing in the 80's (yet still over .500 for the decade) for a run like the early 90's when changes were made cleaning house, or keep up the winning percentage and never play (let alone win) a superbowl again?

I think we can all agree that the major difference is Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson, and how Jerry now controls the team.

The last time Jimmy Johnson lead Miami to the playoffs his team lost 62-7. That with Dan Marino.

Don't look now, but Dallas Cowboys fans are feeling a little bit confident about the 2025 NFL season. Obviously this tends to happen to most franchises in the offseason, especially teams that won big last season, or teams who are getting big-time players returning from injury, or who made big moves in the offseason to build the roster.

The Cowboys fall into some of that with their offseason moves. But they also hired a first-time head coach who has been passed over many times before. A move like that tends to depress optimism in the fanbase, but Brian Schottenheimer has had a very good offseason in terms of roster building, and getting buy-in from his players on a new culture.
They obviously didn’t speak to any of us sane, rational Cowboys fans.

You have to be excited with all the new players and coaches coming in. . . .

Because being a Cowboy Fan all we are left with is Hopium in the preseason. Delusional Optimism that allows us to swallow the piss poor product the Jones Boys put out

Because of the awful Enigma that is Dak a majority of the fan base are numb and are no longer able to be hyped up like a 9 year old fan

But some fans are so pathetic and sad that they will still buy into the Jerry Crazy train no matter how obvious the facts are. Because they love the Cowboys so much they defend #4 to the death. . . then turn around and criticize the Sober Fans because they are no longer joining in on the delusional circus
Lol, they are bringing in a lot of talent. It will be fun to watch.

You kind of remind me of someone else here where you don't answer a direct question.

The reason why Jimmy got hired with Jerry is they were buddies due to a history with each other.

Every once in a while you hit pay dirt being lucky, which Jerry was hiring Jimmy.

I think we can all agree that Jerry likes to keep the spotlight on him where Jimmy was taking the light away from Jerry.

Answer me this, a direct question to you - If Jerry could have swallowed his pride and just let Jimmy run the show and Jerry just give Jimmy the spotlight, do you think that the cowboys could have been the most dominant NFL team who ever played in the NFL?

That in hindsight is the trillion dollar question (Jerry is a billionaire, so a million dollar question wouldn't move the needle for him LOL).

Personally, I think the answer is yes.
