Cowboys fans heading to Philly on Sunday...

It's a game, and the fans are a part of it. You go into another teams stadium and represent with your teams colors, you need to expect to be cursed at, threatened, and showered with beer(in a few stadiums).

no i don't. there is no call to be that void of class when it comes to what amounts to a game.

You most certainly do to. You can be gullable and think life is perfect and fair. Thats on you though. If you go into PHilly and wear a Cowboy' jersey you HAVE to expect to be taunted and cursed and so on.

but the other day they were just misunderstood and picked on!!!

and no i don't have to expect it. i can realize it's likely and it's a pathetic state of their fans that it's even an issue.

And I'd say that Philly is America's @$$. What a miserable city. To those who live there, I hope you're not offended, but for the most part, your city is a hellhole.

ooo really, that's what you would say.

Do you live in Philly? If not, then be quiet.

I live in Philly and I love it. It's an awesome place. Don't go around talking trash, because you just don't know what you're talking about.

Not sure what this is about.

Whats the difference between expecting something, and knowing that something is likely to happen?

Basically the same thing.

I agree they are classless jerks, who would be better off....well I won't go that far. I think they are the scum of the earth, when it comes to the way they treat other fans, but they are people and deserve respect.

no, i see your point and where you are with it. i guess in my own mind that's so pathetic i just couldn't fathom the stupidity that must surround the culture.

you only deserve what you're willing to give. this doesn't mean ATTACK!!! in as much as just ignore 'em. i wonder what would happen if a cowboys fan wore say a cowboys baseball hat but a t-shirt that says "in texas, we can carry guns legally" and maybe a .357 outline around the phrase and a TX outline around that. heh, could be a big shirt. and you'd probably get a serious shakedown at security coming in. : )

we're talking about the average philly fan being a classless jackwipe.

we know full well what we're talking about.

Sneak a taser in. Don't bring children. Make sure you have a will. Medical Insurance is a must. Dental Insurance too. Don't bother waiting for the Philadelphia PD. They're Eagles fans. Stadium security? Good thing this is a big game otherwise it would be practically non-existant on Sunday. The City of Philadelphia can't be embarassed by a riot so I expect that visiting fans will be safer than they would normally be due to an expected 50% of the PD force being active around the area.

Philadelphians outside their sports are decent people. The City itself has cleaned itself up very nicely. The long time stereotype of being a city of garbage is no longer true. They have swept the drug dealers away from the parks as well. But mix sports with alcohol and things can get volatile.

The old Philadelphia Eagles fan addage of "we act like animals because we are passionate about the Eagles" is running out of steam. It is becoming a way of life for them. Some even raise their children with this belief that "if your football team loses it means you are a loser and you gotta show those fans of winning teams that you won't accept winners here." That reeks of an inferiority complex wherein they feel that the fans of another team are always looking down on them.

Like all fans of sports teams, there are good and bad fans. It is unfortunate that the Eagles fans are only known for the behavior of their worst. It has become a stereotype that the worst of them continue to prove that there is a truth to it. It is a terrible thing for the good fans who don't let alcohol and "losing" control their lives, to have to live with.

Nope, YOU'RE talking about the jackass fans in Philly. Double Trouble was talking about how the CITY was the *** of America. I lived there for a couple years, and was generally impressed by the CITY.

But there are some Dallas fans who can't separate the city from the "people who boo Santa Claus". And if Timbo wishes to take up for his CITY, then there are a few Dallas fans who lived there that would do the same.

David.

It is a hell hole,I have been there quite a few times. The city is a dirty and a dump. The streets are so narrow but certain parts of downtown is nice. Other than that the city is a dump,I feel sorry for my relatives who live there.

C'mon man, Eagle fan or not, you should be able to figure it's the crappy part.

Not sure exactlly but I have driven all over the city and I wasn't impressed. Germantown wasn't bad and parts of downtown. Other than that the place was a dump.

Well, there's West and North Philly. ( worse two parts )

Most of Southwest Philly is bad. The Best would be South and Northeast Philly.

I live in South Philly, not far from the stadiums. They have different neighborhoods within it. Italian, black/asian, and Irish. My entire neighborhood (2nd street) is Irish and it's very nice. It all depends on what you're talking about.

What is your take on why you philly fans are scum bags...?

Well, there's no need to call them scumbags.

It's not like every Eagles fan is throwing punches. Most are there to watch and enjoy the game. Then there's some, who are looking to fight, whether from drinking or just by the outcome of the game.

hahaha

Come on, you know you like the Eagles logo.

Ice, you know i dont condone eagles fans assaulting innocent fans of other teams.

And think about how many poeple pack that stadium, less than 5% are the classless jerks that we all wish would just grow up. But a few bad apples spoil the bunch.

dwmyers - good comments on the city itself. I live in the manayunk/roxborough section. I love it here. 5 min walk to main street, 5 min walk the other way and im in the wissahickin-fairmount park with 20 some miles of trails through the woods. germantown and chestnut hill are a short drive away...... old city is awesome, love to hit the bars down there. i can catch a bus 2 blocks from my house and be in the heart of downtown philly in 15-20 minutes.
