Well, there's West and North Philly. ( worse two parts )

Most of Southwest Philly is bad. The Best would be South and Northeast Philly.

I live in South Philly, not far from the stadiums. They have different neighborhoods within it. Italian, black/asian, and Irish. My entire neighborhood (2nd street) is Irish and it's very nice. It all depends on what you're talking about.

You named 5 parts of Philly and you stated that 3 of them were bad!!
I rest my case.....

Hey timbo,

I work partime in west philly and i rehab houses in north philly, North philly is really starting to turn around now that Temple University has been allowed to expand, those neighborhoods are getting rennovated quickly.

Also the grays ferry area that was likely to get you shot on a corner 5-10 years ago, now those houses are all getting rennovated and 2 br's selling for 300,000.

West philly im afraid will be rough for a while, there's just no jobs or industry in that sector.

I lived in Philadelphia (Northeast Philly) most of my life until moving to NJ about 13 years ago. Philly is a great town, most Eagle fans understand that it is just a football game and can break balls with the best of them. Then like other posters have said, there are guys that are losers in all aspects of their lives that go to the game looking to get plastered and start a mob mentality riot, because they have nothing to go home to. But I am sure that there are a section of those people in every NFL city. The situation is not helped here because the local sports talk station, WIP, spends an entire week stoking the fires of hatred and stupidity, so by game time, people are in a good angry froth. Just my 2 cents...

I hope for a good clean game and to beat the Eagles fairly. I am hoping our defense does not come out flat at the beginning of the game, as they did against the Titans... I would like to see them make a statement this week.

I think there is no way anyone can argue that Philly fans deserve to be classified as "scumbags". Oakland fans act crazy, but Philly fans are crazy. They are proud to be classified as poor thugs, and I think it is a bit more than 5 percent of the crowd. If any of you guys have been there, a majority of the fans will talk **** and be totallly classless. The part that is the worst is once, I some kid's dad was cursing me out in front of his child. It is then when I realized Philly fans are just terrible.

On a side note, apparently they are gonna have beefed up security, and undercover cops in the crowd.

I've been to numerous Cowboy games and the majority of the fans act civilized (win or lose) - never been to a game in Philly but I've been to Philly and in my opinion it's the worst city I've ever seen (South Korea was better).

I've been to Philly, I don't know how many times!

At one place I ordered a cheesesteak, and they asked did I want a half or whole? I said a whole, please...

You want fries?

Sure...

When it was all over, they wrapped that damn thing in newspaper and gave it to me with the fries in a medium bucket like can...

I swear, that cheesteak had to be a least 2 1/2 feet long! Like I could really eat all that!! As a matter of fact, I had the rest for lunch the next two days that I was there...with fries...! That was the first time I had a Philly cheesesteak...I wish I had an orginal one right now!!

Tastey.....!!

Andy Reid puts away two whole cheesesteaks and two buckets of fries before a game.......

And always asks Jim Johnson if he's gunna finish his.
