Just got back from the game. I live in Maryland and made my first trip down to Texas stadium to see our season opener. Now I have heard stories about how quiet so to speak Texas stadium is - so I was going to the game already with low expecations but WOW I must say I was and still am thoroughly dissapointed. Sitting there watching the game at Texas stadium and we are americas team and we literally dont even have a home field advantage.

The fans dont even make much noise in obvious situaions like 3rd downs for the giants. Cowboy fans dont even talk trash to opposing teams fans - I mean sheesh they are NOT supposed to be welcome in our house. Now by no means am I saying we should physically harrass these people but there is nothing wrong with giving them a little crap. Like I said earlier I live in MD and I go to Fed ex every year to catch the skins boys games and I go in expecting to get verbally harrassed by other fans. I hate to say it but frickin fed ex field ROCKS and when I say rocks I literally mean ROCKS - like the stadium shakes. Now albeit they have over 91,000 fans and Texas stadium only holds about 65,000 - so hopefully when we open our new stadium it will be better. At least I can hope. Am I reaching here or are the added 15-20k of fans not going to make a difference? Because I feel this is our only hope.

I know this has been covered before because I have read posts concerning it but even expecting it to be quiet it was still surprising how bad our so called home field advantage is. Someone please help us fix this or give me reason for hope because if you ask me , if we can get our new stadium to rock it will be a HUGE advantage to our dallas cowboys.

I live in Chicago and go to Texas once a year for a game and I notice the same thing. I also hopefull the new stadium will solve this problem. I'm going to the Bears v. Cowboys game at soldier field in a couple weeks and I can assure you I will be harrassed the entire game.

Well, I myself just got back from the game. First time there as well. We were in section 1 and I can tell you the Giants fans there were harassed the whole game. Giant S***S chants were the norm. Could the stadium be a bit more enthusiastic? Sure, but I don't think the fans were sitting on their hands either.

This isn't just a problem with the Cowboys. I experience the same thing at Mavs games.

cajun your the 2nd person that ive met who said the stadium wasnt too bad and both of u guys oddly enough were in sec 1. So i guess section 1 was doin there job, i was in section 11 and it sucked. It is good to hear that there were giants s**k chants, however, when i go to fed ex field the ENTIRE stadium has an F the cowboys chant and that is something I was hoping we would get going last night.

Who knows? Maybe with the youth movement underway and younger fans coming in, that will change. I know I am having a hard time talking because i nearly lost my voice last night.

And oh yeah, pics will follow as soon as they are developed. Hopefully tomorrow.

Met Preston Pearson and got to wear his SB ring. SWEET!!!

People don't know what real crowd noise is until they have watched a football game at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

It's one thing to boo the opposing team and give them a hard time, but I've always felt it's completely tactless to harass opposing fans. They are just there to have a good time like you are, it's not like they snuck in and didn't pay.

I go to Giant stadium to watch Cowboys games once a year (except this year, going to Miami to watch next weeks game), and I've had my fill of drunken Giant fans cursing, despite the fact that there are plenty of kids near-by, and generally being bafoons.

You could say that about almost all college teams. That's what happens when most of the people in the stadium are aged 18-22.

I was in section 11 as well. What row were you in? I was at 17... we may have been near each other.

I didn't think the noise was that bad. Better than many other games I've been to at Texas stadium.

I thoroughly believe the loudness in Minnesota comes from a lack of things to do in the frozen north. They are happy to be warm and near the hot dogs and beer, so naturally they are delirious with joy and are loud.

Hey, I heard the Hubert Humphrey Stadium was built to expand with hot air?
Is that why they named it after HHH?

Go Cowboys!

I agree 100%.

Where were you sitting? I was in section 9, row 21, and I didn't think it was quiet at all (and I have been to an eagles game vs the Cowboys). I know I have no voice, and the people around me were loud as hell all night. We had a few Giants fans around us, and we harassed them all night (all in good fun though). We were standing the whole game too, which I am surprised to see, considering how friggin hot it was in there. Hot, and no air circulation at all. Anyway, The giants fans around us weren't very vocal after halftime. lol.

I also noticed the upper deck chanting "Lets Go Cowboys!" several times during the game. Our section joined in the chant. Also, in the concourse, there were quite a few Cowboys fans trash talking the Giants fans. Every time a giants fan would walk by, people would yell "GIANTS SUCK! GIANTS SUCK!!"

Anyway, I posted some pics from the game. Enjoy!

This is truly a case where size doesn't matter.

Ask any Redsk*n fan and they'll tell you that the smaller RFK was MUCH louder than FedEx.

That said, a change of venue may help change the atmosphere for Dallas. I know that the move from the Cotton Bowl to Texas Stadium was the beginning of quieter Cowboys fans when it first happened.
