Cowboys fans: still want Manizel now?

I am a huge Texas homer, so many may take my stance as being a hater......but let me state for the record that I want David Ash nowhere near a silver helmet with a blue star on it, unless he is sitting in his plush living room rooting for the Boys, like I do.

Where did this come from?

No, but i never did want him here.

Some people can handle success well. Others.., cant.

If there is a positive, its his age. If he ever decides to grow up, theres still time.

I wouldn't discount him based on size. He's relatively short, but he has NFL hand size like Wilson and Brees.

I'm pretty undecided on him overall given the stage of his career, but right now I'd avoid him. By all reports he's had alcohol problems since he was in high school and his dad had to take a car away from him because he wouldn't quit drinking.

i get tons of grief for being a Texas homer and many feel that I live with burnt orange blinders on, and that just isnt the case. It is also common knowledge that two of the teams I despise with infinite loathing are A&M and OU. So sometimes I feel the need to justify my takes on certain subjects.

Just seemed to come out of nowhere and not relative to the topic; however, 100% of the fans agree with you. No NFL fan wants David Ash anywhere near their team as their QB.

I'm hoping Ash comes around this season. The Big 12 is open for a QB to step up and take the conference by the horns.

Baylor has no real experienced starter this year, Kansas has the transfer from BYU, Heap I think, but it's his 1st year in the offense. KState has a new starting QB, OkieSt. doesn't know who their QB will be yet, same with OU, WV will have a new QB, Tech has Pachall who has some talent but missed all of 2012 because of drug rehab so who knows there? Really, Iowa St. has one of the best options in Richardson but they don't have the team. Really, Ash is probably the most experienced of all the QBs in the Big 12.

This season is really his to take.

I'm already ready to see Swoopes start.

johhny football is a spoiled rotten brat, who is too small to play in the nfl

You certainly got the brat part right.

I'm not sure if anyone read the cover story in ESPN magazine this week. It was pretty up close, not second hand type stuff.
The kid has some major issues way, way beyond the average kid or football player his age.

Like most kis, he clearly also has planety of good in him. But man, does he have issues.

I wouldn't close the door on Manziel. He's an awesome college QB who shows a lot of talent both mentally and physically on the football field. Most people are reacting negatively to him because of the dirt sucking media who once they smell blood, they stop at nothing to cause more for $$. If you look at the totality of his acts since being thrust into the spotlight, it's not atypical behavor for a 20yr old who almost instantly became famous. What has he really done? Drink some beers, sign some autographs for chump change, attend a UT frat party. Whoopie. I'd still take a look at him come draft day.

Johnny Manziel threw for 3700 yards, completing 68% of his passes in the SEC. He also threw 26 TD's and only 9 int's. He did all this as a freshman. He ran for 1400 yards and 21 TD's. The dude can play and when he goes to the NFL whether he plays this year or not, there will be teams lining up to draft him. Do I think he will be a Good NFL QB? Absolutely, IF he can get his head on straight and I think he will. Would I want him in Dallas? YES
