Lots of reactions and jokes from both Cowboys fans and pundits on the Zeke signing.

Some of my faves today:
  • ”The eagles sign Saquon. The Cowboys not to be outdone counter with Zeke.”
  • ”When Jerry said ‘All in’ he meant ‘All in due time’”.
  • “Looks like Jason Garrett was advising Jerry instead of Jimmy.”

some fans actually think our front office is doing a good job.
Actually…They made some good draft picks. The trade down in round one from 24 to 29 yielded not only Tyler Guyton but an extra 3rd rounder which was solid. But their big picture failures to put playoff success together year after year is their problem. And they change very slowly to their mistakes.

Our FO has done pretty well overall drafting over the years. Where they absolutely suck is their inability to build an entire roster and organization capable of making a deep playoff run. Because they refuse to accept that part of putting a top shelf roster together requires making some FA moves.

The other huge problem with our FO is their inability to understand what they have at QB when we had Romo and now with Dak. Both those guys are/were top 10 types but NEVER elite. Both Romo and Dak need help to win playoff games. They will never be a carry a team to playoff wins (plural) without the right kind of help. Like a great running game and strong defense.

What’s funny is outside of foot speed I put Zeke and Saquon in the same boat. At least Zeke can stay healthy. I’m not scared of Barclay in the least with KM leading the O.

Zeke was the best option we had. Don’t know why so many fans are upset with the move. We didn’t have a 4th round pick and that’s when the run on RBs began.
I agree. Wish they were able to get him at the deadline last season.

is he better than any RB taken in the draft is the question.
Probably better than anyone that we could have drafted. This was a weak RB group. The first one wasn’t off the board until well into the second round. Glad Brooks was off the board when we were up. He probably won’t be ready to play until several games into the regular season. He could end up being red shirted his rookie year.

These drafts just reload to keep the team afloat between 8-11 wins a year. When these draft picks hit their prime we will be saying the same things we are saying now and every year. This FO doesn’t have the ability to add the 1 or 2 missing pieces to get this team over the hump to make that championship run. There is no care to do so. Games sell out and they continue to go up in valuation. So why mess with a winning formula that allows you to print money?

We had a great opportunity with our 2nd pick in 3rd round. Marshawn Lloyd from USC was taken immediately following our pick .
