These three games without Zeke will decide the team's fate this year.
vs Chiefs
at Falcons
vs Eagles
The next three games, while not gimmes, are much more palatable.
vs Chargers
vs Commanders
at Giants
If the Cowboys can go 2-1 in the next three games, they will be 6-4 and in the thick of the Wildcard race, and facing three teams with losing records. If one of those two wins is against the Eagles, they'll still be in the hunt for the division title as well.
If the team goes 1-2 or 0-3 in the next three games, it's going to be a tough road to the playoffs. The NFC is in a down year but, even so, the NFC West and NFC South both have two teams with 5 wins. It's likely that 10-6 does not guarantee you a Wildcard spot this year, only 11-5 will.
So basically, this team's fate will be decided without Zeke.
As I wrote in other threads, I am optimistic that the team can win two of the next three games.
The Chiefs are an outstanding team but their run defense is ranked 28th in the league. Whether or not we defeat the Chiefs will have little to do with having or not having Zeke.
The Falcons are a bad football team. They're in third place in their division, having lost two of their past three games and needed a 4th quarter rally to beat the lowly Jets.
The Eagles game is a must-win for us.
Let's see what happens.
