I don't know if half the league was using steroids. I doubt it. What I can tell you is, few, if any used steroids to the extent Lyle Alzado did. They actually killed him.

Yep. Steriods completely changed Alzados personality. Heck, l remember him taking on Ali and trying to make a real fight out of it. He was completely crazy because of steroids. Sad story because, inside, Lyle was a great guy that lost his way.

Eric Williams made Reggie White look pretty tame on numerous occasions -- that spoke volumes about him. Even Randy White's own teammates were afraid of him, while other team's players dreaded playing against him. Cowboys players also used to say they were the two guys they'd most want to stand next to in a barroom brawl. I always figured they were sure to have an educated guess about exactly who to side up with!

I would take Randy White on a pound for pound basis, but his playing weight was listed at 257 compared to EW and LA being at least 325 (I've heard that LA was only close to 325 the year he played LT and significantly heavier most years).
