He has been holding his own vs Witten, granted Jason is no speed guy but not to many have been able to successfully cover Witten either. Pads on or off for CB and WR I don't think it makes much difference as it would for the OL/DL. What you are looking for is technique and the ability to cover your man. Jones has been doing just that. Kid also seem very open to coaching, some guys come in thinking this is how I did it in college no need to change does not appear to be the case with BJ

I don't expect him to become an amazing corner, but I do think he will be a very good corner for a long time. Not the flashiest, not always making the huge play, but consistently good. Regularly knocking passes down, always tight in coverage.

Who would be a good comparison? Maybe a Jonathan Joseph type? Joe Haden?

Those guys are great corners (Joseph's getting old, granted). I think the guy who most fits your description... is Scandrick.

What I meant was that I never expect him to be a household name or in the discussion for best CB in the league. I don't think he will be the next Sherman, Revis, etc. I consider those guys as very good CBs, which are my hopes for Byron.
