Good to see that. It seems everytime he came in he made a play. I was worried about losing him towards the middle of the season.

It's interesting that he get's a tender before Spears. We might be letting him walk...
Dude cmon think, its the only one to be leaked. They probably turn it all in at one time.

You don't think the others would be leaked too?

UPDATE: Hurd tendered now too..
Dallas Cowboys defensive end Stephen Bowen and wide receiver Sam Hurd, two of the team's 13 restricted free agents, received a second-round tender offer of $1.759 million Thursday, the deadline for when qualifying offers are presented.

Bowen, a trusted backup, finished the 2009 season with 33 quarterback pressures, tied for third on the team with starting nose guard Jay Ratliff. Bowen also had three sacks and 31 tackles.
Hurd led the team with 19 special teams tackles last year. He also had seven receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Noice.

I think we should let Spears walk. We know what we have in him (nothing special). We could draft someone with more upside.

Wouldn't be surprised if we tender him at the 2nd round level.

I have read many saying this including the media. My question is why wouldn't they use the original draft pick tender then?

Actually I think you may be right. If we do the original draft pick tender, we would still get a 2nd round pick in return, and it would entice teams to go after Spears because his salary wouldn't be as much, correct?

His one year salary with the Cowboys would be cheaper.

Would you want Bowen or a draft choice like Jared Odrick to start?

Bowen since we know what he can do in the NFL.

I agree. I think 3-4 defensive ends are the most overrated position on defense. We could probably get close to, equal, or more production out of Bowen or Odrick if we drafted him.

per bloggingtheboys.com, it's almost confirmed that Austin has been tendered at the 1st and 3rd round level.
