Bowen is happy with second round tender
Defensive tackle Stephen Bowen was given a second round tender by the Cowboys, guaranteeing him a 2010 contact of $1.759 million.
As a restricted free agent, Bowen can still sign with another team. If Cowboys opt not to match, they will receive a second round pick in return.
But just to be clear, the Cowboys' value Bowen as a player and believe he will be a big part of the defense next season. Owner Jerry Jones called out Bowen by name when asked over the weekend about players he expects to to make a larger contribution next season.
Bowen has no interest in going anywhere.
When reached by phone on Thursday, he said he is happy with the tender and is looking to getting to work in the offseason program in hopes of making a Super Bowl run next season.
