Cowboys had a chance at Keenan Allen (chose T. Williams instead)

Happens every draft to every team in the league. You hit on some and you miss on some. I don't know why people bring this up all the time to criticize Dallas as if they're the only franchise that has draft blunders. We've also hit on some great picks too.

The worst is TJ Watt.

Id give up 3 Keenan Allen’s for 1 pass rusher like that.

That decision was a monumental disaster. We passed on a likely HOF player for a better scheme fit in Taco Charlton.

Morris Claiborne is definitely worse. With TJ Watt you were drafting toward the end of the first and missed out on a guy due to scheme.

With Morris Claiborne you spent an extra 2md round pick to move up and miss drafting Luke Kuechly, Bruce Irvin, Fletcher Cox, Michael Brockers, Stephen Gilmore, Melvin Ingram…

Traded a premium pick to dodge those players.

How many teams passed on Frederick? How many passed on Lamb? How many passed on Prescott? How many passed on Romo?

The Cowboys have hit on many skipped over players by other teams over the years just like other teams have.

NFL history is full of great players who were passed by other teams, including some many times over with rounds of picks.

Cherry picking one here and there from years past to point out what could have been is really a pointless exercise.

This is not a defense of any Cowboys pick that failed to live up to their expectations as there have been many, but rather pointing out that all teams have their "could have, would have, should have" missed picks in their history.

There is a long list of coulda woulda shoulda’s with this organization and I’m guilty as anyone about bringing it to light

the Watt and Taco one is frustrating as is the zeke Ramsey but it is what is
There is a long list with every team
If only teams had a crystal ball
Tom Brady would have been a first round pick

I don’t hate Claiborne. He was universally viewed as a elite corner and they made an aggressive move and it didn’t work out. I’ll never be mad at them for that.

And passed on Emmitt Smith and Darren Woodson and Michael Irvin and Emerson Walls and Larry Allen (HUGE MISTAKE), and Erik Williams (the only offensive tackle I've ever seen throw the Great Reggie White) and ...

And by the trade chart they got good value. Should have given up a 4th as well I believe

Trading up or down is always a gamble. But for every Claiborne, there is a Dez Bryant
