Cowboys had a potential trade for WR

if we trade for a WR than giving up a 4th for Mingo last season will be even more dumber especially when Dak was already injured when the trade happened.

Figured. Just really disappointing that they left this draft without a upside WR or a legit top 10 draft in this deep running back class. I think Blue is intriguing, but i always thought he would be a doulble dip guy with someone else. Maybe the Clemson guy is that guy, but I am doubtful. I think Dane had Blue at the 21 rated back and the Clemson back at 25. Dallas should have done better getting a higher rated back.

The WR thing is really disappointing. It is going to be a thing all year long even if they get better than expected production. Maybe a veteran is brought in, but are you really going to find someone better than Cooks from last year? Maybe, but you can also find someone worse.

Pickens definitely has talent. Can’t say I’m a fan of his professionalism, which would seem to be at odds with the push to put together a culture focused team.

He’s a diva WR, which seems to often be a part of their makeup, but I’m just not down for dealing with it.
Not when cee Dee has a touch of it too. Though to be fair him playing through that shoulder and playing so well left a lasting positive impression for me.

These are the 4th round WRs taken after the Cowboys traded pick came up.

128 - Jaylin Lane - Commanders
133 - Jalen Royals - Chiefs
136 - Elic Alymanor - Titans

I suppose we could compare Mingo’s 2025 production to these three guys, right?

Could Shoulda Woulda...they always come out with a story about what didn't happen. Don't care, it didn't happen, and they're not a George Pickens away from doing anything.

Glad that everyone is blowing smoke up Jerry’s butt.

Who’s Dak throwing the ball to?

They played it safe. Took no risks.

Been doing that for years and guess what. Abject failure. I want to see some risk. I want to see an owner who wants to win. Not what we have been seeing.

This all started in that Green Bay debacle for me, and he’s done 0 to show me he wants to win since.

Then they go the easiest way possible to hire the HC, don’t even give him what he wants for his “smash mouth football” culture he’s trying to build, and I’m supposed to clap at the draft they just had?

The 2 positions that needed help the most in my opinion are worse than they were last year.
Its odd about the risk isn't it.

Jerry used to love taking risks.. TO is one that immediately comes to mind.

Can only assume Air Quotes talks him out of it these days.

Honestly, I can live with the diva issue, it's part of most WRs' MO for some reason. I think part of Pickens' problem is simple maturity. He has the talent of a #1 WR, but way too much inconsistency. But I have no problem giving the Steelers a 5th-round pick for what would be a one-year rental. IMO his talent and low contract cost are well worth it

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/...Pickens signed a 4,dead cap value of $522,669.

I fully get the frustration. Man, do I….

But for some reason they decided to let the roster go to where it’s not a one year fix. They were going to come out of this light no matter what they did.

I really don’t know what the plan is….it appears to be all over the place.

Pick 114 for Mingo isn't bad especially with the outstanding draft that we just had.
