Cowboys have no foundation to build upon

The Head Coach isn't the Cowboys biggest problem, it's that they have no foundation of Players to build up on and give hope.
There is no Depth at Dline to build on. We are likely to lose our starters, Osi and Gholston, in Free Agency. They aren't great players but they were the best we had.
The CB depth is non-existent with Diggs likely out next year, and Bland is our only good CB.
Jordan Lewis is a Slot CB and will likely be in demand in FA.
The Safeties are pedestrian to put it kindly.
The Oline is Average at best.
Cee Dee is our only legitimate starting WR. We have a bunch of 3's and 4's but no 1B or 2's on the roster.
The QB is paid as Elite but he is no where near and is often injured.
At every level, there is no young talent waiting to take over and fill the gaps, the cupboard is bare.
The team that doesn't play a big role in FA likely won't again and given the Cap commitments to 3 players paid at the NFL Highest, there is no money to save the day.
Other than that, how did you like the play Mrs Lincoln?

Cowboys organization doesn't have a Football philosophy about what type of players they look for, what type of team the want or have a blueprint for success. The Joneses have marketing and business strategies they use in Football with poor results on the field, but their arrogance is fed by the money they make.
Right…they just collect players and coaches and hope it all works well together.

We only hear about “scheme fit” when they clearly blew a draft pick.

Lol we were just a 3 time 12 win team but now we have nothing. Yea ok. This team can EASILY bounce back if Jerry uses common sense. EASILY
The Cowboys lost over 10 players from those 12 win teams. This off season they will lose more players. They don't use free agency. They better hit several home runs in the draft.

Mostly jags according to this website.

LOL, thinking you can build a team with the foundation being Dak, CeeDee and Shittenheimer is like building on quicksand. Gonna sink sooner than you can say Jerry sucks. This team hasn’t reached bottom yet. And who knows when they’ll be even respectable.

We were the youngest team in the league in 2016. We had plenty to build on, but we decided to roll with the mediocrity at QB in the Jason Garrett training program of QBs.
So, what should've been the plan? How was Dak mediocre his rookie year?

Did you watch him play against the only 2 good defenders he played against? Giants and Ravens.. and then the Eagles game before Romo came in

If a rookie came in this year and had Dak's exact rookie year, you wouldn't say he was mediocre... you would be screaming for him to replace Dak.

Your analogy is flawed, simply by the fact Dak was never Romo…. Nor would the rookie have that 2016 roster….

Good point, even if a rookie came in and played worst with this roster. You would still want the rookie to replace Dak... much like some did with Rush this year.

People here called Dak mediocre last year and it was his best year.

Correct. Which is why the HC is irrelevant at this time. Which is why you guys complaining about Schotty are being silly and short minded.

We’re going to be bad for awhile.

Well, being bad is best case scenario.

We’ll likely be mediocre and stay stuck in the middle which is even worse.

Hopefully we are terrible.
Which is why the HC hire was great.

Another horrible analogy. Dak has already proven himself of being garbage, including with 2016. People just want Dak gone

Yes, I would. And I thought Dak was just OK at the time.

Dak had 3,667 yds passing w/ only 23 TDs. Pure bus driver. And yes, I thought so at the time.
