Cowboys have no foundation to build upon

The Head Coach isn't the Cowboys biggest problem, it's that they have no foundation of Players to build up on and give hope.
There is no Depth at Dline to build on. We are likely to lose our starters, Osi and Gholston, in Free Agency. They aren't great players but they were the best we had.
The CB depth is non-existent with Diggs likely out next year, and Bland is our only good CB.
Jordan Lewis is a Slot CB and will likely be in demand in FA.
The Safeties are pedestrian to put it kindly.
The Oline is Average at best.
Cee Dee is our only legitimate starting WR. We have a bunch of 3's and 4's but no 1B or 2's on the roster.
The QB is paid as Elite but he is no where near and is often injured.
At every level, there is no young talent waiting to take over and fill the gaps, the cupboard is bare.
The team that doesn't play a big role in FA likely won't again and given the Cap commitments to 3 players paid at the NFL Highest, there is no money to save the day.
The Cowboys have no identity. What do they want to be? Who knows. If you have an idea of what you want to be you acquire players to get you there. The Cowboys seem to want to be Dak. That's it. They pay Dak and hope he can win with whoever else they can afford to put around him.

There is no winning strategy.

How did that SB roster perform in the playoffs?
You aren't doing yourself any favors here buddy.

The argument is we had the youngest team in the league in 2016, but we decided to go with that Jason Garrett training QB experiment, so we ended up blowing the SB window, instead of building on that 2016 roster.

You mean cap boy Stephen Jones and Wil McClay suck? Been saying it for years now.. .neither one of those guys belong in a front office.

Dak does a great job making himself look bad. He doesn't need help from fans.
Boyhowdy did that come out of left field. You really need to learn how to read, dude, and quit jamming everyone into your own little Dak crapp.

Jerry love's fans like yall. Shifting all blame away from him and onto Dak's shoulders... building the team is on Jerry, and he's sucked at it for 30 years.

Do you read the board only a few times a year? There is no bigger Jerry critic on this board than me. That said, Dak has done nothing to merit his current contract and rewarded Jerry with a poor showing before he went out for the year. We were 3-4 in games he started. And thats not getting into his GB playoff meltdown under pressure. Dak needs to win in January. Jerry can't do everything.

There are only 2 personnel groups that make every other group better.

A dominate OLine makes every other player on offense that much better.

A dominate Dline makes everyone else on defense better.

For whatever reason, the Jones' family can't seem to comprehend this. No team in the salary cap era can be dominant at every position. You must build a complimentary football team.

I ageee.. Which includes decisions like Jason Garrett and Dak Prescott….

Lol we were just a 3 time 12 win team but now we have nothing. Yea ok. This team can EASILY bounce back if Jerry uses common sense. EASILY
Yep.

The fact of the matter was that this team was not a Super Bowl contender to start this year. If we didn't have the key injuries we had we likely would have won 10 games and maybe squeaked into the playoffs. That was best case scenario...we were too thin at WR, RB, LB...and of course made bad decisions like starting Elliott over Dowdle for half the year.

You are right, good decisions in the draft and a couple key free agent moves can put us right back into contention for the playoffs but I think we are a ways from being a Super Bowl contender in any case.

That is pretty much it in a nutshell.
