I think the basic issue here is that Hayward was mainly considered a stot CB and the Cowboys <presumably> already have a good slot CB in Scandrick.

3 years 15 million, very surprised we weren't able to get that done. Especially when you consider how much they paid Claiborne.

only thing I can say is they like Carroll better or conserving some money for Long.

I think SD pick is for sale anyway. Someone is gonna get nervous and trade with SD or Dal for QB.

yep. dallas is in both a great position, and a horrible position.

it was the best of drafts, it was the worst of drafts!!! :)

but to me, if we're targeting someone to get there at 4, we better be targeting (4) players and take the 4th. if we target a qb cause we don't think teams 1-3 will take one, then it's quite likely teams 1-3 could trade down to somone looking to get ahead of us cause they KNOW FOR SURE we're qb bound. well, gotta play the odds in that game.

so anyone we are targeting strictly qb wise, we damn well better get a backup plan out there in case of this scenario.

And Carr will make more than that...with Carr's dead money hit on the cap at 4 (if cut), it would have only cost the team 1 million more to sign Heyward on this year's cap. I'm not a cap guy but figured this is close; acknowledging the dead money next season would be offset by the progressive cap system that rises substantially every year?

I think we should draft at least one CB in the middle rounds, 2-5, every year, that way we can stay prepared like GB did. This way we don't get stuck with a Carr like contract again. This of course relies on the scouting department being good at their job.
